So as she lay there with her face blown off, there

To get a kick out of this story seems a little mean. Luckily she managed to spread her own ashes saving the family time and money.

I agree in the current context. But tell me you don't think lil Jimmy Norton put it in such a way to make you laugh uncomfortably. Anything is potentially funny. That's PAC's motto.

This one time when I was 12, my next door neighbor had a few firecrackers.
I "found" a book of matches (probably my dad's)
and we shot a couple off here and there across the street from our houses. He then held out his hand which was holding 3 or 4, and said, "Here light this one", as he was intending to throw 1. I lit the match, and somehow managed to drop it. This was spring time (it was very dry), and we were standing on Zoysia grass. The small flame from the match caught a bit of the grass on fire and we found out rather fast that this grass burns very easily.
As we both began attempting to stamp out the rapidly spreading flames with our sneakers beginning to stink of hot rubber, my friend started shouting "Call 911!" and I replied, "Your house is closer!".
A few minutes later the neighbors all had their hoses out and were putting the flames out just in time for the Fire truck to show up. We were then told by the home owner we would have to fix the yard up. My friend and I were pretty freaked out by the whole thing and apologized.
I was just thinking about what would have happened if I would have managed to light the firecracker(s) that my friend was holding. My recollection is that they had quick fuses. One of us probably would have lost a finger or an eye that day.
We never did lift a finger to fix that guys yard either...
I read the linked story. I think if the original poster had actually been at the scene, he would not have been enjoying it as suggested.

She was playing with illegal, commercial-grade fireworks, which she was not qualified to use.
She put her head in front of a lit firework.
I know she was trying to entertain her kids, but that's why towns invented their own fireworks displays. To prevent incidents like this.

I hate to agree with a board character, but this is generally correct. Tragedies that can be easily prevented do have comedy value. Especially when there's massive amounts of stupidity and illegalities involved.

This, on the other hand, is a sad story too. But it makes me wonder what happened. Did the woman leave the van in drive? Why couldn't she stop the van before it rolled into the pond?
Obviously, once the van was in the pond, panic set in. She probably couldn't free the kids from the child seats before it was too late.

Let me get this straight.
She gets out of the van, doesn't park it correctly, and it starts rolling away?
She jumps back in to the van, but can't stop it. It then rolls into a pond where
she is killed along with 2 children.
That woman deserved to die.
It makes me feel that much safer because there's one less idiot on the
road that I now don't have to worry about killing me. It is ashame about the innocent kids though.
Sometimes we need to sacrifice a little though, just to be safer. Isn't that what the President says about the war in Iraq?

Me and my brother used to light M80's and blockbusters (1/4 stick of dyno) in our hands and wait then throw them in the air and watch them explode... stupid I know
One day my dumb ass little brother lights his and it doesnt light right away so he hands off the lighter to someone else and is just standing there not paying attention. These things have thick fuses and sometimes they blacken and light a little delayed, as his did.
I happen to look over at him and this 1/4 stick is lit halfway down the fuse while he's looking the other way... i smaked his hand and the blockbuster flew out of his hand and blew up 2 seconds later about 5 feet from us. Our ears were ringing for a while but I didnt have to go home and explain why my twelve year old brother was missing his whole fucking hand.

I used to travel on the road 8-10 hours a day.
I've been witness to some pretty horrific accidents in my day.
There was one time where a deer jumped in front of a tractor trailer and the driver stopped short.
The guy in the car behind him slammed into the back of the trailer. The fucking guy in the car was mangled.
I witnessed the whole thing from the center lane. I pulled up behind the accident and got out.
The guy in the car was just covered in blood. You couldn't even see his face. The car was fucking destroyed.
There was another guy that pulled over and he was on with 911. Wasn't much I could really do so I got back in my
vehicle and left. I found out later, after reading the newspaper the next day, the guy in the car died.
Did it scar me for life? Fuck no. Shit happens and life goes on.
