Went to the Nationals-Cubs game yesderday. It was at RFK stadium,right in the heart of chocolate city.I did not see ONE black face in the crowd, except for some players and vendors selling hot dogs and beer, nothin.Basketball and Football are done,You can get a ticket for 9 bucks, I don;t get it. Strange

The NAACP just told MLB that they have to try and get more black players in the game. I think that baseball has become a more white/latin sport. black people are not going to pay to go see white and latin players.

now if someone came out and said there has to be something done to promote the NBA to white kids....

Maybe all these "brothers" your speak of from the "Chocolate City" dont have money to waste on baseball. Maybe they have more important things to spend whatever little money they have, like food, clothes, rent etc.

Larry Bird did actually come out a couple years ago and say that he thought there should be more white players in the NBA a couple years ago. If I remember correctly the media made a big stink about for about week, then forgot about it.

No need, white kids already love to watch and play basketball and most of the ticket buying fans are white. As for playing maybe some whites arent good enough to make it pro. Just like whites and latins may be better at baseball. No need to force races into sports just to do it.

i have not been to a game in 6 years. i think the best way to watch is at home or at a bar in HD. and to me I do not care if 100% of the fans were white or black, or if 100% of the players are any race or color. I watch sports for entertainment, not to get feedback on how well the country is doing on race relations. put the best players out there, and let me watch it.

I will agree that the games I have been to, most of the fans have been white regardless of the sport. I did notice more black fans at basketball in terms of % of the crowd.

I haven't been to a game since last season, but in Philly the Sixers games are pretty much 50/50.
Football....I think black people are wise enough not to mingle with a bunch of drunken animals.:smoke:

Attendance for the Nationals is horrible this year, and guess what, next year, at the new stadium, the tickets are supposed to be some of the most expensive in the country.

Thats funny but true. I have seen many asians lately. Latin's have been going to yanks games for years (they play in a latin area & have many latin players on the team). But I never seen the curly, black suit Jews (orthodox I guess) But I have seen the regular yamaka (sp?) wearing ones. Unless those are orthodox too? There seems to be so many secs in the Jewish religion I never know which is which.
