In today’s world of me and only me some of us have lost what it means to be a community; sharing, participation, and fellowship. I’m not talking about hippie communes but instead a little courtesy for other people, especially for children. The physical power we (adults) have over children is as strong as our responsibility to care and protect each child. I can only hope that when one the pieces of garbage thinks of harming a child (physical or mental) they stop and think of what it mean to be helpless. Grow a conscience!!!

I would not want anyone telling me that I could or could not have a child based on a subjective judgement of my fitness to give proper care to another human being, but your point is well taken, Friday.

To be an adoptive parent you have to jump through unimaginable hoops to prove your fitness to share a loving home with a child. Two of my dear friends will finally be bringing home their daughter after over 18 months of interviews, flights to Russia, financial wrangling, etc. etc.

It boggles the mind when you think that any irresponsible individual is able to bring life into the world and disregard and disrespect it so easily.

Maybe a better way to say it would be "Its easy to put sperm to egg and make a child, but it takes Love, Responsibility, and Sacrifice to be a parent."

Was there ever a time when "Eating Your Own" was acceptable to deter bad behavior and purge the degenerates?

I remember reading about paleo-Indian cultures in the pre-Columbian Southwest United States. They had a philosophy about social development that loosely translated meant one was either "raw" or "cooked." If one was raw, they did not want to participate in the farming, family, religious or other social activities (cooked meant you did). A Raw individual was able to sleep in the common areas but not share a home, was fed by the community but not permitted to enter festivals, and generally they were tolerated as outsiders to be cared for but pitied. But the moment ANY violence erupted by these outsiders, a massive purge was engaged to kill them before further violence or cultural disruption occurred. The purge was meant to protect the productive members of the group and discourage violent behavior by others.

My Sister In Law Had A Child, I Told My Wife Jokingly When She Was Born, We Will Be Raising That Kid Soon. Sure Enough Before She Was 1 My Sister In Law And Her Husband Were Hooked On And Making Meth In Their Home, With The Baby Wandering Around In The House. She Got Busted With A Rolling Meth Lab In Her Car, Was Going To Jail, Ratted Out A Few People, Got Stuck In A Treatment Home. We Got Custody Of The Girl, For 3 Years We Raised This Girl Taught Her To Talk, Read, Tie Her Shoes, Every Thing.
