I have seen this bulletin posted numerous times on MySpace and everytime I look at it I can't see anything wrong. I'm starting to think it's just a joke to fuck with you and make you sit there analyzing it.

The error is in the UCSD line because finding the error above is impossible because there is no error, therefore it should say no students could find the error or 100% could not find the error above instead of 80%.

Kinda. It says "Repost it and you will see the error." So, I tried it, without actually sending it, to see if you could see something different in the reply box. Nothing there either.

I figure it has to be a joke just to mess with you. I just wanted to see if I might be missing something that someone else could catch.

This test stems from studies on Test Anxiety, pedantry, and analysis paralysis. People will be told to look for an error that does not exist. They look, and their logic and instincts will tell them nothing is wrong, but because some real or perceived pedantic force told them to "find the error" they begin to second guess their first instinct, which is, nothing is wrong.

Or there is nothing wrong at all.

This is also correct, that is what the second version of the test is supposed to do.

The first version with the 0's was actually done as a goof, as people were given it to look at for a very limited time and had to answer within a time limit, so at first glance people are dumb and just say nothing.
