I am completely ashamed to say that my immediate reaction was that a hybrid of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson passed away.

Lady Bird Was Butt-Ugly And Extremely Shy And LBJ Brow-Beat Her. She Came Right After Jackie, Which Was An Impossible Act To Follow. Although Her "Beautify America" Campaign Was Often Mocked, It Had A Lasting Impact On The Country's Landscape. As F_S Usually Routs For The Underdog, He Was Always Highly Sympathetic To Her, And Would Probably Consider Her His Favorite First Lady. It's Not Sad, Though, Cause She Was 94 And Had A Remarkable Life!

94? How did she go, motorcycle accident?
As a little girl in Texas, I knew that she had the roadsides seeded with flowers, and that she made it 'illegal' to pick bluebonnets, a wildflower that is Texas' state flower.
Which just made pickin' em even better.

When I was a waiter, I waited on Lady Bird Johnson at the River Cafe in Brooklyn. This would have been around 10 years ago.
Favorite First Lady? I don't know about that. I think I'd have to go with Mary Todd Lincoln. Bitch was crazy!

That's exactly what i first read when I saw the headline, took me 3 times to realize that Larry Bird and Larry Johnson weren't fused together in a reverse-Siamese twin surgery and died during the procedure. I was sure that was it.
