Which do you prefer?
I've always seen Sam Adams and Brooklyn as similar companies in so far as they are large micro-breweries that have a fine and wide selection.

for me though, Brooklyn edges out Sam because of Brooklyn Penant Ale. quite a nice beer.

I enjoy Brooklyn Brown and Brooklyn Lager

But as Companies head to head Sam Adams is making a Tad more $$

framework people.
I agree that sam smith's is better, just as Chimay is better than sam smiths.
the point is, I think Sam Adams and Brooklyn are somewhat similar, so working within the framework, which do you prefer?

I like both, but I think Sam's has the better overall taste.

Pardon me Mr. Anal Retentive- must keep the thread on track guy!

I'll deviate, and go for the Yuengling Brewery. America's first.
They're Black and Tan is second to none! The lager goes down as smooth as a spring rain.

But if I must stay in line, I'll vote for Sammy.

seems like there are quite a few micro brew fans out there, so im posting to endorse my favorite (sorry furie)

southern tier brewing company (http://www.southerntierbrewing.com/)

it says on the site that they distribute all over ny and pa, but they have been growing a lot over the last year so it might have expanded even further.

the stuff is brewed in my hometown of lakewood, ny in the southwest corner of the state. i have a bunch of friends who work at the brewery so i like to support them.

their ipa is the best ipa i have ever had and they have a double ipa which is probably the best beer i have ever consumed.

so, if you see this at a local beer distributor, i highly recommend picking some up. most of the beers are on the hoppy side but aren't bitter like many hoppy beers.

i've never heard of them. i'll keep an eye out at the local distributer.

Both are great, but the Sam Adams Summer Ale puts them ahead.

Like Hot Tub said though, its tough to beat a Yuengling Black and Tan.

loved sam adams until i had brooklyn lager, now brooklyn all the way -- their IPA, monster and the mighty chocilate stout are tops in my book

i've always thought that both brooklyn and sam adams lager on tap was always awful ... never tasted as crisp as a bottle, sometimes spoiled ... the only time i'll drink brooklyn on tap is at northside bars around the brewery
