surprise, surprise.........this story is out of Georgia.

I would have told this bitch to shut the fuck up and serve me peanuts. Who or What gives this flight attendant the right to tell her to DRUG her child?

I was going to post this story last night. If a child is making too much noise or not listening then what do you want airplane employees to do? They should be kicked off the plane. I understand people have kids but other peoples kids shouldnt ruin or disturb others while flying. If the kid is under 3 years of age the parent didnt even pay for a seat for the kid. So why should everyone else who paid for a seat be annoyed, botherd, delayed or whatever because someone else cant control their kid?

I dont fly anymore, but when I used to fly for business I hated when a kid was sitting near me. If they are in front of you they stand on their seat and stare at you. If they are behind you they kick your seat and if they are in your row the parent and the child seem to get up every few minutes to go to the bathroom or whatever.

If people cant control their child then they shouldnt fly. Why do people who have children feel like they deserve more then others? Its a choice they made to have children, once again their CHOICE. If I want to deal with this stuff then I would have my own child.

This Is A Touchie Weird Subject, I Have 2 Kids, A 9 Year Old And 2 Year Old.
I Try Not Impose My Kids On Other People, When See Them Staring At Someone, I Tell Them To Stop, If They Are Loud I Do My Best To Quiet Them, Etc...
I Know How Other People Are About Others Kids, Cause The Only Kids I Like Are Mine. If I'm Out To Eat And My Kids Get Loud I Will Get Up And Take Them Out Til They Calm Down. You Have To Know When And Where You Can Take Your Kids, My 9 Year Old On A Plane Would Fine, 2 Year Probably Not So Good, So I Wouldn't Even Try.
That Said, If Anyone Ever Suggests That I Drug My Kids For "a More Pleasent Flight", I Do Believe They Would Find Themselfs On The Recieving End Of A Foot To The Face. My Kids Are My Problem. I Will Fix It. When Time Comes For You To Help, You WILL Be Notified.

While I agree that kids on a flight can be a pain, that flight attendant was way over the line if she actually said what she is accused of saying.

My two kids have been flying since they were babies (including a flight to England when my youngest was nine months) and my wife and I did everything we could to keep them calm. The biggest problem we had was kicking the seat in front of them and that was mostly because their feet didn't touch the floor so they would swing them. But we would get them to stop right away.

Snacks, this is not like the situation earlier this year where the kid was running around the cabin and bothering other passengers and refusing to buckle up. This kid was sitting in his seat, buckled up, and babbling. Like all toddlers do.

This wasn't a 767 on a long 11 hour flight. This was a puddle jumper going from Atlanta to Oklahoma, a relatively short flight.

According to other passengers, the child was bothering NO ONE except for the stewardess, and the flight was taxing to take off when they took it back because the Stewardess said the mother threatened her.

And to be honest, the stewardess was out of line mouthing off to the mom to begin with.

I was sitting in first class on our way to Hawaii, and there was a French couple sitting in front of us with a baby. The baby was crying before take off and really annoying me. It put me in a bad mood.

By the time we took off, the kid was quiet and stayed quiet for the rest of the flight.

The French have been the absolute WORST passengers on airplanes in my experiences. They're the most annoying, noisy, irritating, irresponsible people I've ever dealt with in closed quarters. On a flight from San Fran to Liberty, I got treated to having two rotten toddlers screaming and kicking the back of my chair THE ENTIRE TRIP. Occasionally one would start wailing and crying. Then the other. The parents posted their teenage daughter to look over them while they both sat in first class the whole way sipping wine. The teenager of course was content to do nothing to hush them up and occasionally encouraged them somehow to cry even more at times. I had to physically restrain my girlfriend from whipping around and yelling at them, though I was in a foul mood the entire flight cuz of them myself.

I'd rather fly with a bunch of Muslims than the French. Muslims are better behaved by far.

Ha, I hate that. But I've gotten to the point where I can tune out the screaming babies. The loud talkers annoy the hell out of me though.

As far as the article, I can totally see it happening. Between snarky flight attendents and passengers who think they're the only ones onboard, none of these stories surprise me.

Yeah that is a wierd sceanrio.

Seems like form the details we have the stewardess was out of line.

I don't have kids but I have nieces and nephews and friends with kids and as best I can tell they're not like pets who can be told what to do and pretty much listen.

Too many wildcards with their emotions and health.

This was probably this kids first flight and it's amazing that he/she wasn't going crazy.

I've seen grownups fly that are so nervoud and yappy you wanna kill them.

Unless a kid's being incredibly unruly, say like there other sceanrio which I hadn;t heard of about the kid running in the cabin, I don't think you should be able to kick them off the plane.

Just a correction for the highlighted part, Snacks, otherwise, I'm right with you. Children are no longer allowed to sit in their mother's lap anymore. If a child is required to sit in a carseat on the highways, he/she is required to sit in one on the aircraft as well, and the parents are required to buy a ticket for that seat.

Other then that, you are 100% right.

"And I said, 'Well, I'm not going to drug my child so you have a pleasant flight,'" Penland told the TV station.

Well then fine. Ever heard of a lollipop you stupid cunt?

For this to have gotten to this point, I'm sure it went on and on and on and on and on and nothing was done by the mother to correct it, even though half the plane was probably giving her dirty looks by the time the stewardess said something. I think its obvious that some passengers complained to the stewardesses to do something after it went on and on.

This is what I hate about these fucking types of people and their spoiled children. Fuck you, get your little rat to shut the fuck up. Its a grown up world, you have no fucking right to make everyone else uncomfortable. I don't care how short the flight is, many of the passengers are overworked business people or tired vacationers who look to catch a nap on the flight. And then this cunt shows up.

Any parent with a SHRED of decency would take action to control the situation, as some of my fellow RF.netters have already said (BTW-I'm not talking about you guys here, you're obviously responsible and considerate). You see these people in restaurants changing their babies diapers ON THE FUCKING TABLE while people are trying to eat, at local parks, even just walking the streets around town. The whole fucking world is supposed to accommodate them because spawned a litter. Fuck you, and fuck your little brat.

The villain here is the mother, who obviously doesn't give a fuck about anyone else.

I don't think so at all. Think about how this likely played out.

The kid is saying "Bye Bye plane" for a few minutes and everyone thinks its cute.
The kids is still saying it 10 minutes later and people start squirming in their seats
The kid is still saying it 15 minutes later and half the flight is giving the mother dirty looks
The kid is still saying it 20 minutes later and people complain to the stewardess
The kid is still saying it 25 minutes later, after the stewardess has already told the mother to please do something about it, it's upsetting other passengers.
The kid is still doing it 30 minutes later and THEN the stewardess says "Hey how about some Baby benadryl?" to suggest a solution to the selfish cunt mother who has done nothing about it.

Sounds reasonable to me.

Children under two are still allowed to fly free as a lapchild on most airlines.

Having spent a great deal of time in the front and the back of the plane... Indians (is that even the PC term for them anymore... ahhh who gives an damn) are by FAR the worst passengers. They do NOT listen to instructions, and will smile to your face as they completely ignore you. On several dead-heads (riding along in the back) I've seen them deny the flight attendant's service, but once they found out it was free they took multiple handfuls of snacks, to which the f/a had to ask for some back because we were short stocked and would not have enough to serve the rest of the plane. I've also witnessed them walking around the cabin during taxi for takeoff or after landing (a definite no-no), and I even had to yell at one to sit down during landing because they felt the need to get up and stretch about 50 feet off the ground. Now, I know this is not limited to just Indians, but they blatantly ignore the rules and annoy the crew the most.

As far as crying kids are concerned... if I'm dead-heading I wear earplugs. But for the most part, I'm thankful I'm behind a locked door with noise canceling headphones. I'm glad I'm not in the stew's position... In this case we will never know, alot of he-said she-said.

well most of the people interviewed who were on that plane said they werent bothered by the kid and actually were defending the mother

also its rumored that the attendant told the pilot that the mother threatened her and thats why he turned around the plane

if thats true can she be prosecuted for making up a lie such as that ???

the mother says she was surpried by everything. Lol look at this kid, she cant be surprised the little bastard doenst sit still and she does nothing to get him to.

Watch the video, who wants to deal with this shit on a plane? The kid was so annoying that they took him off the show. Yet they are trying to make it sound like no big deal. Well why not keep the kid on the show and let him continue his little rants? Its just like that on the plane after awhile you just want the kid off the plane just like they wanted him off the tv interview.

You could see how the interviewer is laughing and trying to make it seem like "oh its only a kid" but she couldnt handle it herself and look as if she was uncomfortable about what was going on. She must have been thinking to herself " I believe they deserved get kicked off the plane? Why did we do this interview? WE look like fools"

have any kids?

Oooooh, Ooooooh I'll answer. Yes, I have two kids and I can honestly tell you that the limit I would allow it to happen would be three times.

I know I'm going to open myself up to ridicule, and someone's going to make some snarky comment about how I'm all full of myself or how I'm probably a child abuser, but my wife and I have NEVER raised our hands to our kids and they're are the best behaved damn kids you'll ever meet.

We took my son on a plane trip to Cancun when he was about the same age as this little bastard. I swear on a stack of bibles that we had people come up to us after both flights to commend us on how well behaved he was. People were saying how they were dreading the flight when they saw us walk on and how amazed they were at how uneventful it was.

Yes, I guess my wife and I are wound up tight all the time and we are constantly on top of the kids. But thats the sacrifice you make if you want to raise decent human beings. Too many times I see parents who decide to deal with the everyday stress that kids can cause by simply shutting them out. They let the kids run amok and block it all out for their own sanity and expect strangers to do the same. If someone complains they act like its just kids being kids. Well not necessarily. Kids need limts imposed on them. If you don't give them limits they will push it to as far as they can get.

have any kids?

No thank God. I just don't have the patience, as you can tell from that post.

I was trying to put in some kind of context what might have happened leading up to the mother being told the "Benydryl" line. She was acting as if the stewardess said it to her for no reason, and from the video of her interview I think its clear there was plenty. I think that video also makes it clear she makes no effort to do anything about it.
