Starting when I first went online today, my arrow/hand thingy is flashing. If I stop moving it, it disappears.
It makes it so I can't highlight anything, and I can't scroll over threads.
And it's just plain annoying.

I didn't want to start another thread, so move this if you have to.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's doing it to me too, but only in Firefox. IE is fine.

It appears to be due to the flash ad on the left side. It'll cycle out and the flashing will stop.

But I'm asking it here, since I don't want to start a new thread, and there are some smart people on right now.

At night, I watch almost all of my television through my computer. My LCD monitor uses a lot less electricity than my TV, and my comp's speakers are much better. It doesn't slow my computer down much at all (if any), and I can even post on online, and do Photoshops all at the same time with no problem.

My question is, do you think running the TV card so much is too much of a strain on my comp? I have a 1.8ghz amd processor with 1gig of ram, and a 256mb video card and separate tv tuner card. I'm also running two monitors.

it all depends on your card. most TV cards use hardware encoders to take your cable and display it on your screen. the benefit to this, as opposed to software, is that it only used 3-5% system resources on most computers. as for to much strain on your PC, i would say def not. you can always check by running just the TV mode, and then checking your system tray and seeing your CPU usuage. I am sure it is not even close to 10%. you should be fine.

For IE7 users, you can download IE7Pro (http://www.ie7pro.com/), which is a plug-in that has a flash blocker as well as some other good stuff, like an ad blocker and a spell checker.

I was too lazy to look for reviews. I just installed it and hoped for the best. Been using it for about two hours so far without any problems though. I had to change some of the preferences. By default it will start a new tab each time you click on a favorite, I didn't care for that feature.

edit: Found some user reviews at download.com (http://www.download.com/3000-12867_4-10700736.html). Most are positive.

O hai; In these bellicose times I'm not one to foist extra work upon anybody, but isn't this a system admin's job to address? It appears to be something wrong with this site that is not wrong with any other site I visit. Sure, we can download all kinds of crap, but it just seems like our R&F IT action team should be the ones unleashing their lolcats into the programming so that our computers can finally be full of cats. This thing is acting just like a worm I once had (at the bottom of a tequila bottle...high fives all around.........anyone? Helooooo???) I don't doubt that someone is spelunking the architecture even now. How about an update from a sys admin? Is it true that the whole of the R&F oligarchy is going to have to download various plug-ins or is this eventually reparable by the Geek Gods? Can I has a worm or does I just have worms? OK, but, like, dig dis, mon. New subscribers to the site or more casual observers are not neccesarily going to see this thread and will prolly say "fuck this" and bail. One of those people could be a future G-Vac or a foochure Mooch. The longevity of RF.N depends on a tech fix OR posting the link to an external fix prominantly on the first page past the welcome picture. I'm just sayin' that, theoretically, no website should permanently require an outside fix for the end user to enjoy reading stupid posts. Since I don't know dick from cunt when it comes to programming I am doing my very best to pray to Satan. This said, I fully understand the difficulty of hacking a Gibson. Asmodeus go with you...
