Ted Rall "pokes fun" at the troops

It isn't the first time he's done this. And it is a political cartoon and nothing more. But sometimes isn't just needed to be said to just leave the soldiers out of the argument? They're doing what they're told, no matter who the Commander in Chief is.

Take a look at it, and form your own opinion. And never let it be said he should not be allowed to print this. I'm glad he did, now I know how his mind works.

After reading his bio (http://www.tedrall.com/about.htm) I'll say he seems like an interesting guy who might have some valid input on the war in the Middle East. On the other hand he obviously has not served in the military and is resentful/jealous of those that do. That can be the only reason I can think of to make fun of the people that are defending this nation from enemies that we had pre 9/11 and the ones we now have post 9/11.

The comic is a poor attempt to get us to "know" the suicide bombers we are facing. They are sons and daughters like the ones we have sent over. The people we have are not mindless religious zealots, though, they are people doing a job. They make a difference and all the people that have done it for the last 230 some odd years did too. This guy is a jerk and Ill defend his right to express himself to the death.

I disagree.The guy isn't blindly attacking ALL troops he is attacked SOME DUMB troops. Actually i think its more a criticism of American society than of any individuals. I think he is attacking the source of SOME Americans ignorance about why we are fighting and the lack of understanding in American society about what the hell is actually going on with all this. just happens to be using the troops as an example of how the way our society works ends up screwing these guys.

The fact that he is attacking any of the troops without having served in the military himself is the basis of my point. Americans are ignorant; I get it. If he has never served he can't really joke about the reason why others have. On second thought, he actually can joke and that is a great thing.

I think you nailed it, but there are better ways to get that point across. He's also obviously trying to provoke a reaction, and he's succeeded.

But the headline of "Suicide Bomber", making a comparison of US troops and insane people who intentionally target civilians of no military value is woefully wrongheaded and ignorance of the realities of the world we live in. It displays either some form of arrested development and immaturity or a lack of curiosity when it comes to military matters on his part.

Thats a long winded way of saying he's a big fart head.

Thats why I think he probably has some valid points to make about what is going on in the Mid East, because he went over there and saw what is going on for himself. I think he is probably an interesting guy. He can say US troops did some stuff that wasn't good but the ones we know of are being punished. To imply that he knows what is going on in the soldiers head is bullshit because he has never been in their shoes. To put out something like this cartoon only makes him come off as a cocksucker.

Don't get me wrong, he's basically the liberal ann coulter, except that he has actually done reporting before. I feel awful that he has the same ideology as me.

Don't you hate that stuff? Since I'm a conservative, Ann Coulter is the conservative Ann Coulter (waka waka) and I'm embarassed to have someone like that agreeing with me.


Edit: I wouldn't feel too bad if I were you. Even though I have some problems with Ted Rall, he is nowhere near as nasty as Ann Coulter.
