Monster shows/getups like Dracula, Frankenstein, and zombies have to be my favorite. From the count on sesame street, house of frightenstein, abbott and costello meet frankenstein and the wolfman, munsters, love that stuff...

that all seemed very kaotic and stupid. I'm not even sure that it was funny. One thing that was funny was when loco-bobo started doing the finger in the mouth popping thing. I actually laughed outloud a bit. what channel and time does this show run? I think I'de have to watch it in full to make an actual decision wether I like it or not.

They're all made, in the 1950s!!!

That's going to be stuck in my head all day.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar w/ the Horror Host genre... chaotic & stupid is kinda a performance benchmark, ha ha ha!!! Personally, I find these cluster fux quite endearing... & these Monster Madhouse folks put in a lotta extra effort regarding costumes & props & unusual locations. I don't ever recall another Horror host doing scenes outdoors in a LIVE shoot!!! The production values are way above par as well, brilliant direction & production, IMO!!!

here's some info I received from the big boss...

FCC-TV can be seen in most of Fairfax County and all of Falls Church
on Cox Channel 12 and Starpower Channel 2, and can be seen through-out
of Northern Virginia on Verizon's Fios service Channel 35.

It is not on Comcast anywhere. We are going to try and find a way to
get the entire episode available on Veoh.com soon.

Monster Madhouse Live is on Friday and Saturday nights at 10pm on
FCC-TV; select episodes are also seen on Fairfax Public Access Channel
10, seen on Cox, Starpower and Fios as well.

BOO!!! HISS!!!

I'll be sure to complain, the next time they ask me how my service is.

Yup, In TX, you have Professor Griffin's Midnight Shadow Show. Ever heard of him. he's REALLY successful!!!

Here's me & legendary RnF intern, Bitz backing up Professor Griffin @ a gig in Cleveland a couple years back!!!

Elvira (http://www.elvira.com)was/is the most famous, but wasn't the first - nor the last - of the horror hosts out there. She was part of the last wave before cable and syndication reduced the need for local television - and was even syndicated herself for awhile.

In the 1990s, and up through today, much of this is being done on Public Access all over the country - last count, there may be over 50 such shows on (http://www.horrorhosts.com). All very different in the way they present their shows - some don't even do movies (a favorite of many, out of New York, for example, is "Ghoul A Go Go (http://www.ghoulagogo.com/)" - a monster/kids dance show that The Cramps are big fans of) - and there are even some who find a way back to "real" television in their local markets.

As an interesting side note, next week there will be two documentaries shown at the San Diego Comic Con (http://www.comic-con.org/cci/) on the past, present and future of horror hosts: AMERICAN SCARY (http://www.americanscary.com)and VAMPIRA, THE MOVIE (http://www.vampirathemovie.com/) both screen on Thursday, July 26. This is a big, big deal! Cassandra Peterson will also be there, marking her 25th Anniversary of her character "Elvira."

Monster Madhouse Live (http://www.monstermadhouse.com)is only a year old, and already has a pretty good following in the area. Episodes have been screened in other access markets, including Ohio, Illinois, Massachusettes and California. Bobo's appearance was definately a highlight!!

Griff is the face of Halloween in Austin, Texas, btw - where he is from and where his show is seen.
