So, I went to Nordstrom's (high end frou frou store) on sunday to purchase cellulite cream (what.....dimple butt happens). the chick at the counter was trying to tell me that i get a 'free gift' and i could 'come pick it up' and all she needed was 'my credit card number'. I declined and told her to just ring me up for my fatass cream. $55.13 was the total. Indeed. Well yesterday i noticed a pending transaction for $55.13 and $1047.13..at Nordstrom. WTFS!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew that bitch was sketchy. All of my accounts that are links have been cancelled, and i have protection through BOA so i get that money back within 24hours....but now i have no debit card, thusly no access to cash (it takes 5-10 days to get it in the mail). In VA, they make you file a police report as well. All in all, i'm annoyed and need gas in my car. Now to find a gas station that takes DISCOVER. I'm not in a bad situation, i'm just annoyed at this. I'm even more annoyed that i have cramps, my boobs are sore, and i have a migraine (joys of hormones). The only good thing that came out of this was checking my credit report and seeing my credit score is a nice 725. *sigh* Stupid frou frou rich bitch store.

You MUST contact Nordstrom's and tell them that you will be contacting an attorney about this matter and see what they come back to you with.

They are responsible for their employees and the pain in the ass that you're going through is definetly worth some cash.

Good luck.

i agree, you need to let people there know. I would call more than 1 person, just to make sure the word spreads and the person you call is not friendly with her.

That's cool that your bank gives the money back so fast. also with you new high credit score you should look into getting a Visa card with low interest rate and no yearly fee. it will help raise your credit score in the long run as well as protect you in case of a situation like this.

Have you spoken with Nordstrom yet? They are psychotic about providing top notch customer service, they will most likely do everything they can to help.

the police are talking to nordstrom. the police told me that they have to investigate there, then the store should call me. I told them about the sketchy chick and her 'free promotion'. they have a copy of my receipt, time i was there, and who rang me up. *shrugs*. It could be worse, i could have not had insurance on my card and be missing out on over a grand. Just sucks i have to change all my account numbers, which means i have to change my auto-pay on all my utilities. *sigh* I'm not out the money, i'm just inconviently inable to access for a week or two.

I'm going to rub it in to Nordstrom's that i will never shop there again, all my fatass cream needs will be met at Macy's or L&T.

men do not get cellulite because their adipose tissue and hormones are not like womens. but they do get stretch marks.

To answer your question, i'm a chick. and even when i was 115 lbs and a drunk anorexic...i still had cellulite. for the past 8 months, i've been going counter to counter, trying one product at a time for a month. I've tried $12.99 products and $200 products. So far, the best results came from wet coffee grinds soaked on the area mixed with Estee lauders anti-cellulite serum, wrap in seran wrap for a half hour, rinse, apply more serum and dry, then put on jeans. takes about a half inch off and tightens your ass. Otherwise, good old diet and regular exercise can lessen the appearance, but not make it go away.

sounds like simply clerk error, i can't imagine she was trying to steal $1k for you for her company (not even into her own pockets) in a way that would be obvious to you and you'd definitely get the money back. glad it's all worked out so far. and why would she tell you she needed your credit card number when she already had an imprint of the card. very odd. maybe she's just not a good clerk. i was going to ask if that was your zip code, then i realised your incorrect transaction was my zip code with an extra digit, so that's probably not what the mistake was. very odd all around.

she might have bought something for herself on skelly's credit card.

Most important thing in this thread.

With that said, even though the police are contacting Nordstrom's on your behalf, you should call customer service, write letters (not emails) to the company officers, etc. and show them your displeasure and your reluctance to shop in their stores again after this incidence.

true, but it would take a special class of idiot to think they wouldn't get caught in this instance.

another thing, working in retail, it's much, MUCH easier to just walk out the door with what you want than to pull someting like this. or so i've heard.

Seriously, complain to the store, you will most likely get free shit! I sent an email to MAC/Nordstrom about how I thought their MAC Brush set for that year was of crappy quality and returned it. They sent me an apology letter and a check for $50.

I would have thought that, but my $55.13 transaction is on there, where i used my PIN number, then 2 hours later, a transaction for $1047.13 without PIN. I think the clerk was trying to use my info to get the 'free' gift for herself and fucked it up. Whatever the case, i will start the phone calling process and letter writing process tomorrow.

BOA just informed me i can stop by an office and get a temp check card until my new one appears. Yay, money and a firm butt.
