Voyagers! (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083500/)
The complete series is out today on DVD.
I know this show has been mentioned before on this board, so I thought I'd let any fans know. I ordered mine from Amazon.com.
For those who don't know, Voyagers! was a show from 1982 that featured Phineas Bogg and accidental time traveling companion Jeffery Jones hoping from one historical event to the other, making sure history stays on track. A predecessor to Quantum Leap. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096684/)
It lasted one season (20 episodes) but I'm psyched to see it again. I haven't watched it since '82 and barely remember much of the episodes, but I have a feeling it will hold up.

I'm going to bet against that. I have a feeling the kid will drive me nuts.
I do remember this show, in particular an ep where we find out the kid was a huge Billy the Kid fan. They end up in the Old West and find out that Billy is going to kill Theodore Roosevelt. I won't spoil it for the rest of you.
The other thing I remember about this show as that Jon Erik Hexum appeared in this series before the show Cover Up where he met his demise somewhat similar to how Brandon Lee died.

Well, I'm not taking any bets, but I'll let you know how it is.

Sure you weren't watching the Brady Bunch?

Like another famous time traveler would say... "No one calls me chicken!"
But besides that, I think it will hold up and I don't have to prove that to anyone Stugie!

Fairly certain:
Bully and Billy (http://users.adelphia.net/~staryjo/Voyagers/episode.html)
During the Cuban Revolution, Jeff and Bogg discover the rebels are losing the war because Teddy Roosevelt was killed by Billy the Kid years ago. On their way to 1889, they meet Benjamin Franklin, who is having problems getting his kite to fly. In 1889, the Voyagers join Billy's gang, saving Roosevelt's life. Jeffrey's childhood hero, much to Jeff's dismay, turns out to be nothing without his gun. Back in Cuba, Bogg helps the rebels and meets Roosevelt again before his charge up San Juan Hill.

I used to love that show, but I didn't realize it was only on for one season. I am very interested in seeing if it holds up or not.
It is pretty funny that you mentioned Quantum Leap - when it came out I remember thingking "...hey, they are ripping off Voyagers!" However, QL was a far superior show.
And Jon Erik Hexum's death was only marginally similar to Brandon Lee's death. For JEH, he and a few members of the crew were playing a game of Russian Roulette with a prop revolver. It was his turn, he put the gun right up against his temple, and shot himself with a blank round. Although there wasn't a projectile, there was still the powder charge which did a ton of damage point-blank. JEH ended up brain dead.
For Brandon Lee, a freaky chain of events lead to him being shot by a projectile stuck in the barrell of a "prop" gun. I'll give more detail if you want, but this post is already too long...

I know the details, but the similarity is that both were killed by prop guns on set. Hence me calling it somewhat similar.

Yeah, you are right. I'm being "Petey Picky." Prop guns were the cause of both deaths.
However, Hexum's death was based on sheer stupidity while Lee's death was caused by one freak accident leading to another and another.
But again, I shouldn't have been so literal. Sorry Budday!
