Is sidebar some blackberry thing? A NY thing? A term Ron made up just to get me searching the internets?
I almost never answer my cellphone when it rings, and I hate when I have to "sidebar" in front of people because I know what they're thinking: "didn't hear it, my ass...".

I've never heard the term before today. I plan on making it part of my daily vernacular, though.
My problem is, when I get calls that I need to "sidebar", I'm usually driving and confuzzled. I flip open the phone, then hit "end". Which means that I actually answer the call, then hang up on them.

i have a slider phone, so i can see who's calling and silence the ringer easily enough. if i accidentally answer, i'll wait a few seconds before i hang up. plausible deniability

I never have that much control when it happens. I'm usually also trying to drive, smoke a cig, and skip the commercials on my XM recording at the same time.
