Murder Capital USA. I recently finished the book that spurned the TVs homicide, by David Simon. One of the best books I have ever read, that year they had approx 280 murders. In the years following, I believe they peaked at 308 murders. Almost 1 per day. Go O's!

i learned a lot of baltimore from this song......
Beat-up little seagull
On a marble stair
Tryin' to find the ocean
Lookin' everywhere
Hard times in the city
In a hard town by the sea
Ain't nowhere to run to
There ain't nothin' here for free
Hooker on the corner
Waitin' for a train
Drunk lyin' on the sidewalk
Sleepin' in the rain
And they hide their faces
And they hide their eyes
'Cause the city's dyin'
And they don't know why
Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live
Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live, just to live
Get my sister Sandy
And my little brother Ray
Buy a big old wagon
Gonna haul us all away
Livin' in the country
Where the mountain's high
Never comin' back here
'Til the day I die
Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live
Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live, just to live

Yeah, she had a store called Edith's Shopping Bag that her sister bought for her so she'd have something to do all day. I logged a lotta time in that place. In the back they had some adult literature for sale. It was there that I learned of the extremely difficult literary genre known as the "gay biker novel," you can't even imagine... yet, a lotta women I knew then read these tomes vociferously!!!

Well, if anyone was interested in an official Baltimore bar night, my band is playing the parking lot next to the Sidebar this weekend. It's a outside show, so there is less chance people would get kicked in the head unlike a show inside...
It's all afternoon, so I think we are playing early like 3 or 4. I would check the sidebar website for the exact time.

It's electric (but plays acoustically great) and has no fine tuners. I bought it in a pawn shop in Culpeper when i was visiting my parents. $25 whole dollars. Not the best, but man it's a challenge. Sounds better than my violin that is missing the internal tuning peg. I always wanted a huge viola because the violins pitch is too high and i can't hear it well (mostly deaf in left ear). One day when i learn it better, i'll get a custom. As for this one, it's black and will get a skull and x-bones painted on it once i get the strings and pegs attached right.

Holy shit!!! $25???? wow, congrats on THAT find!!!
I have a 17.5 built by a friend of mine, Gliga, in the Czech Republic. It's INSANE, it's acoustic & so large, I play it like a spike fiddle on my knee Middle Eastern style!!!

I quoted the Randy Newman song Baltimore earlier but I was inadvertently listening to another song called Baltimore the other day by Lyle Lovett....
