Holy crap did it come down in buckets today. It rained so hard and so fast where I work that the drains for the roof backed up and the office got flooded out big time. Water was pouring in through cracks in the walls. The loading dock was like a swimming pool. The sky looked like it was 10:00 at night at 8 in the morning and the lightning was setting off car alarms. It was nuts! I saw someone outside and it looked like this:

I made it through just before they closed the BQE in both directions, and had to go through water up to my car door to do it. Saw abandoned cars in huge lake sized puddles on highways all over the place. Good times.
Rained too early. If it rains like that in the afternoon, at least you have this to look forward to.

Of course, today was the day I had to drop my wife's car off for service and we use a mechanic that's by our old apartment because we like him but it's a 45 minute walk home (which I don't usually mind as it's great exercise). I get to the garage at 7:00 a.m. and start my walk home when the heavens open. Within seconds, I am totally drenched (except for my head as I had a small umbrella). I walk through some of the worst rain I have ever seen and to make things better, some of the storm drains were clogged so, at one point, I was walking through knee-deep puddles.
I get home, shower and then head off to work (going from Queens to the Bronx) and can't find a away to get there because all the highways are closed due to flooding. A normal 30 minute commute turned into a 90 minute drive.
All I know is my wife better service ME tonight!

Hummer Tuesday has come and gone.
I've been married for 13 years. Hummer Tuesday ended a long time ago for me.
