I wish I had "the once and future king" in front of me. There is this quote about how you can tell the quality of a person by how they treat animals. Because when you hurt a person, there are negative effects to you, so you will more likely treat that kindly, even if you don't want to. But it's easier to hurt an animal, because it's defenseless, and when you do hurt them, nothing bad will come of you. I'm sure it was more eloquent in the book. When I worked at the Wal Mart photo lab, some punk brought in pics of him, and one or two others, mutilating a live cat. The staff wanted to call the cops, but fucking management said it was against store policy. We could all get fired, if we called the cops. Their rational was that we couldn't prove that the photos were real.

About a week later, it hit National news that a Walgreen's encountered the exact same thing, and they DID call the police. The kids were charged with cruelty to animals, and Walgreen's got good publicity.

On the bright side, one of my coworkers recognized the guy in the pics. When he came to pick them up, he told him he'd be coming after him. He did go after him the next night. He beat the crap out of him.

I think it said it would cost 20k to $30k and it said you could make donations. This is just horrific, but I cant see spending $20K to keep the cat alive. If thats the case they should make the girls pay it.
