The only Saturday I probably can't do is the 4th, I'll be totally wiped out from camping that week and that's the day we are coming back :)

Bobo i would get the word from Ron and Fezzie before you keep dropping the Dr. Dremo's name. If a lot of people are staying in the city, which i am assuming they will be, they may not want to sit on the metro all the way to virginia. there will be a lot of OandA listeners around too for the Virus show weekend. People may be wanting/thinking more about something actually in the city. There are a ton of great bars in the Dupont/MCI/Chinatown/Metro Center area.

That is two stops from the studio and may be really close to everyone's hotels. A vote might be a good idea when the official details of the unmasked comes out.

On that note, Bama and I just may be meeting at Hooters at 10am to have beers for the show taping on Friday. If anyone wants to join, PM me.

No shit - considering that all of the bar nights, going back - oh, I don't know - almost 4 years, have been in The Commonwealth, this isn't exactly setting a scary president - especially since Dremos is maybe a mile from the DC/VA border and you can see the monument from the windows - and it's metro accessible.

If you are comfortable with taking people to a place where they do NOT SERVE BOOZE then lead the pack. there is going to be a very large crowd going. is everyone going to be okay with not being able to get a drink and instead trying belgium beers all night? i know most people are not straight beers drinkers especially when it is a heavy drinking night for everyone for the celebration

I've never attempted to party in the district. and...also ..are there even people traveling from out of town that are planning to come to bar night-- or would come? if not, it may be a lot of worry over nothing.

There are a lot of bars in the city, the place does not close down after dark. The trouble is finding a place big enough to accommodate everyone, and it is known that Dremos can do that. The problem with getting to Dremos only applies to using public transit. The DC Metro really blows, and when you're not taking it during weekday rush hours, it can take up to 20 minutes for a train to arrive, and if you have to transfer that makes it even worse. So I guess it depends if people visiting want to use the public transit or not. Otherwise Dremos is like a 5 minute drive from the city, and has plenty of parking.

Clyde's at Gallery Place is convenient to the Metro. It's a restaurant/bar and could accomodate a large amount of people. While Dremo's has a GREAT atmosphere - it doesn't serve liquor...beer only.

Good Suggestion Millie, :thumbup: I've actually never been to Clyde's myself but I've heard nothing but good things about this place. It's true it's in the city and close to metro for the weary travelers. I personally enjoy Dremo's because that's all I really drink is beer. So, to me it's perfect. Like Bobo said Dremo's is perfect for a big gathering except for that small detail of no liquor sales. To which non-beer drinkers will have a bit of a probelm with I'm sure, and those are my .02 :drunk:

Back in May or June I bought a ticket with a friend of mine to an 8/17 show at Nissan Pavillion in Bristow, Va. So, it kinda sucks for me that I might have to miss the biggest DC bar night as of yet. Once again, if the festivities run late I can definitely be there before last call. Lol.

Hey guys I actually live in Vienna and want to put my 2 cents in.

First off I would love to go out for Friday night. Can't get out of work until 5. My friend wants to go to that Little black dress nonsense party at Clarendon Ballroom put on my hot 99.5. So Dreamos is 2 seconds from there.

People from out of town, no need to be worried about anything in Northern Virginia. Its not far from DC at all. I like Dreamo's and can see it being a great place for this type of crowd, but Chinatown and Arlington are two different parts of town so someone should make a decision soon.

Someone mentioned Rocket Bar for an afterparty. After the live show that would be a great place. I know when I went in March for March Madness they didn't serve food. They let you go outside and get food and bring back.

Clydes I would NOT recommend for this crowd. It's a pretty nice bar, but when it's crowded you will have NOWHERE to sit or stand. I like the food, I like going before or after a verizon center event for a beer, but not to hang out.

If you want to stay in the area of Chinatown I think the Ron and Fez group is best off at RFD. (Regional food and Drink) great Brewery, and room to move.

I am making plans with the tailgaters for the comedy show on saturday, and would love to find out if you guys get a plan in place for Friday night. I'd love to stop in.

Dremo's will be torn down next Feb or March too... I'd go there 4 ever if I had to choose!!!

* HUGE variety of beer
* TONS of space
* Laid back atmosphere/not pretentious
* Most of the DC regulars know it and are familiar with it
* No cover
* Outside seating if necessary

* Quick access to Rt 50 (which goes right in and out of DC)

Yeah, but they do close earlier than NY - some people may still be wanting to push on until 4am when a lot of the area bars begin playing "Hotel California" to get KFTB to do one final song...

Anyone know of someplace open uber late? An after-after party, maybe? There's always the diners - Bob & Edith's on Columbia Pike, but that does force people to go even deeper into the Commonwealth.

the place should have the following:

* Lots of parking
* Close to a metro
* HUGE variety of beer
* TONS of space
* Laid back atmosphere/not pretentious
* Most of the DC regulars know it and are familiar with it
* No cover
* Outside seating if necessary
* Smoking inside
* Quick access to Rt 50 (which goes right in and out of DC)

Dremos is close to my area. I wouldn't mind it. If we had to pick now I'd say Dremos.

Here is a question. For those of you wanting to stay out "late" What time are we thinking of starting this shin dig? Dremos in VA will close at 2am I believe. The LATE night bars I only know of Club 5 in DC which is open until 5AM.

Problem is the METRO closes at 2 OR 3 and then your going to be stuck somewhere in the city looking for a cab.

The area around Dremos is already going to be a good place that night. Another radio station is hosting a big party in that area, so I would expect a larger than usual crowd in Arlington. I would say it sounds like Dremos is the winner. So lets pick a time.

I'm live in NOVA, if buddays want to get together at another spot some night just pick it. We can totally scope some stuff out another time.

I'd like to check out something in the city but we'll never come to any kind of consensus in the time we have left.
