In the top 5 legends thread a lot of people are bringin up actors and muscians, that gave me another idea. How about the top in their field for entertainment and sports. Top actor, top director, top football player etc...

I'd even say DeNiro beats Pacino for best living actor and I'm still unsure if I want to say DeNiro is the best living actor.

Best Director, I know the easy choice is Scorsese but even there I'm a bit iffy on that one. (And no, Spielberg is not the answer.)

Best living physicist, and I know I'm going against the tide with this, but I'm going to say Stephen Hawkings.

i'd say hawking is the greatest popularist of science (makes it popular/interesting to the common man) but there's a huge difference between that and being the top astrophysicist.
