Did anyone catch this last night? I thought it was really interesting and a great way to learn more about the candidates (admittedly, I didn't even know who a few of them were). It seemed a lot more informal than a traditional debate. I was very impressed, there were a lot of very passionate points made. I'd like to see one with the Republican candidates as well.

The concept is interesting, but I've read CNN heavily filtered the submissions.
What I would like to see are videos on YouTube of each candidate's answers and a poll asking if the candidates answered each question or not. YouTube can be used to compare each candidate side by side to see their body language and hear their responses.
I think every candidate prefers to talk about their strength's, however when it comes to topics they are not familiar with they avoid answering them directly. Frankly I rather support a candidate who admits to their unfamiliarity with the subject and explain how they will become more informed.
I'm not sure why rhetoric is the norm, do people like hearing their bullshit?

Playing it safe....if you can cloud what you say in fancy and "big" language, fewer people will realize what you are actually saying. Plus, nobody wants to get caught adhering to a single position, then having it blow up in their face

There is a Republican version of this same debate format on September 17th.
It was the most interesting one so far...I thought Obama looked the best by far, even though I don't necessarily agree on a lot of his positions.

I liked his answer to "Would you be president for minimum wage?"... After almost everyone else was saying "of course!" "Yes!", he said something like, Sure, I would, but all of us here have tons of cash so it would be really easy for us to live on minimum wage, unlike the average American.

It shocked me today to watch Tucker Imahomo Carlson today. He picked out 2 clips from the debate (which was 2 hours) and tried to say how can anyone take the candidates seriously when they spend the night answering such silly goose questions.
And I actually turned O&A of today because they just suck so much republican cock. I would be content if they just didn't talk politics, but they are so divorced from reality it blows my mind. I guess if i lived in the same cash filled bubble i would be as well.
Its time that the candidates answer to us. I did notice that everyone on stage had some relation to the people in the YouTube spots. A lot of the spots were over produced for being from the common man.
But I will definitely watch the Republican debates. At least it should be entertaining.
