The Radio Biz must be very tough to take. They were on for one ratings book do a great job then theyre yanked a few months later they may be heading back there, So theyre negotiating etc I presume/speculate. It takes a certain type of personality to handle that kind of instability.

I think the problem was that a couple radio shows doing well in the ratings can't carry an entire talk format. But I don't think they gave the entire talk format there a fair shake personally.

Not for nothing but the fact the pre-recorded promos changed from featuring E-Rock of O&A to Fez of R&F and E-Rock of O&A says something to me. K-Rock may be holding them to appearances but they won't be going out of their way like that to promote the appearance unless it has an effect on their bottom line ie. a return to K-Rock for R&F may being seriously considered at a minimum at this point.

based on the fact that ron & fez cleaned up on their last books, and having people like dukes in their corner, i'm sure that they will be back on krock. my only question is when and what time slot. aside from all the hints they are still paying that non working earl and dave, anyone think they'd have contacts like that if they weren't still gonna work for them? ron & fez have contacts i don't think at least producers do, i'd expect them to be at will employee's like rest of us. now lets all start speculating what time slot and when!

I don't see ANY FM slot as an insult personally. They were off the air in Market #1 and suddenly were back in evenings. That's pretty big. Plus they proved themselves in that market, it was just the station that didn't work the format correctly. Ron and Fez did everything right.

But I do agree at this point it would be kinda lame to accept anything but their old slot or an upgrade. I'm not saying Ron and Fez wouldn't do very well in drive time, I just don't think it would be the kind of show a station is looking for at that time, and in the end might move them again. FM stations are fucking idiots, they don't know how to use shows properly, so they layoff the talent instead of the overpaid stuffed shirts.

Well, if the show was nationally syndicated on a Larry King, Art Bell, or Loveline scale, that wouldn't be a step down. However, afternoon drive would be good too. If the boys have shown anything in the past 8 years, it's that they are highly adaptable to any format.

After listening to the actual audio ... I think Opie wasn't just randomly throwing it out there to be a nut. I think O+A are really smart about radio. He wouldn't say things like "Let the rumors begin" if he didn't have a good reason for wanting there to be rumors. Perhaps i's either:

1.) He knows KROK is dying in the afternoons or evenings and needs something to grab viewers, but the fan pressure needs to be stirred up to make a case for R+F. or

2.) KROK really does have plans and in order for it to be successful it's going to need a buzz buildup.

More importantly ... why doesn't someone who knows post on this thread? There's been no authoritative no ... or I'm just wishfully thinking...
