It is the olfactory portion of the "taste" experience that is changing. For instance, if the inside of your house smells like cigarettes and cat piss, the cookie will taste like a cat piss/smoke cookie.
Try either always eating outside, or cleaning your house.

It's probably all in our heads, but I understand what you mean. Food tastes differently depending on our environment. If you have a hot dog at home it tastes good but you're just at home. Get one at a ball park or out at a picnic and you're having a great time as you eat it so it's just a totally different experience.
I think it's more what you associate the taste with in your head than the actual taste.

I think it has to do with the smells of outside vs. inside, which affect taste. food also taste different in cold and warm weather.

I figured it was something like that. It just comes off poorly, like it was written by a Japanese dude who doesn't know much English. Like my favourite sign ever from Yankee Stadium that said
DEREK JETER GO PLEASE?

Being from NJ myself, I know what Union smells like, and I'd say that anything that you eat outside in Union is going to tatste like rotting fish and petroleum.
