Dear Oracle,
Explain to me why I continue to get calls from recruiters with jobs nearly 1500 miles from my home? Do they really think I'm going to up and move to Wisconsin for a three month contract? FUCK. Stop calling me if you don't have a position within thirty minutes of my home. You're wasting your fucking time. So annoying.

My favorite is when a job is far away, I'm not qualified for, and to top it off, it's almost no money.
"Program in Fortran in Abelene, TX for $7 an hour!"

they called me for an electrical engineering job that was local to my house. it sounded awesome, the job seemed really cool and interesting, and a 10 minute commute.
so i interview, find out the salary. no joke, 14 bucks an hour. and an engineering degree was required. i was so fucking pissed i walked out of the interview.

My favorite is when two recruiters from the same firm call and offer the same job.

Beyond asinine. What kind of a fucking company would a) expect to find a degreed engineer to work for $14/hr; and b) pay a recruiter to find a prospect at $14/hr, and 3) what kind of recruiter would contract to find a degreed engineer for $14/hr?

all questions that i asked myself as i drove home in a suit. my recruiter told me they just started working with this company, and they had no idea. i was fucking livid. i had to take a 1/2 day from work for this shit

Ive got one even better. I got contacted by a car rental company who wanted ONLY people with degrees to work the counter, the interview process was THREE WEEKS long and they offered 29,000. Insanity.
