hats used in the pros are made with curved bills.

as for why they are supposed to be curved, it's a matter of functionality. if the bill is curved, it fits on the head better and won't fly off as easily. with a flat bill, the cap flares out in front of the ears, and you have to wear a hat larger than your head size. in an actual game, it would keep falling off your head (which greatly reduces its usefulness at keeping the sun out of your eyes).

That being said, not only should the labels be removed, the bill curved and the hat the correct size for your head, BUT THE FUCKING THING SHOULD BE STRAIGHT!!! There is nothing worse than a kid with a hat 6 sizes too big, covering his ears, fucking sticker and or tag still hanging off it and all crooked .
the only thing worse are those stupid fucking knit hats that have a shitty little pretend bill that is about a third the regular size (also usually worn all crooked)

The worse example I ever saw was a guy and his girlfriend in their 30's wearing matching knitted fake baseball hats shitty looking things. They sat in front of me on a 2 hour flight and I had to stare at that gay looking pair of matching hats. Who wears anything that matches his girlfriends??

I was a big time guido and listend to club, techno, house and hip hop music. I would bet most on this board listend to rock (of some kind) and wore band tee shirts and jeans. I have no problem with what you are saying. I hear you, but disagree. I think my style (if you can even call it that) stinks, but at least it is not goofy looking.

Sadly, I did participate in many a fad. sweats up past the knee, mullets, zubaz pants, bicycle shorts. UGH. I always take the little rectangle one off the top of the brim, and yes I curve my brim!!!! It's just the sensible thing to do.
