I know this topic comes up somewhat on the show (at least it did last year) and in honor of this week's Superbad meeting...what is your favorite Scorsese movie?
Though Goodfellas is the fan favorite and Raging Bull is considered his most artistic, I don't think he was ever as on fire as he was with Taxi Driver.

Casino, Goodfellas, Gangs of New York The Aviator, etc

goodfellas is the only one that does it for me.
I'm still waiting for that one starring Larry David to show up in theatres. I'm shocked it never came out.
Seriously though....if I gotta pick only one it's Raging Bull.

I had trouble deciding between between Taxi Driver and Goodfellas. I chose Taxi Driver.

Betsy: You've got to be kidding.
Travis: What?
Betsy: This is a dirty movie.
Travis: No, no, this is, this is a movie that, uh, a lot of couples come to, all kinds of couples go here.
Betsy: Are you sure about that?
Travis: Sure. I've seen 'em all the time.

Only the actual votes count (unless it's a Presidential election).

Raging Bull's my favorite but it's too fucking depressing, so I voted Goodfellas.

It's between Goodfellas and Taxi Driver for me. Probably an edge to Goodfellas, but I gotta think it over.

What's with the "Favorite Sci-Fi Movie"? Am I missing something?

What's with the "Favorite Sci-Fi Movie"? Am I missing something? I was retarded when typing in the thread title and sometimes I type without thinking. Since I type 'sci-fi' (SC) more than 'scorsese' (also SC) I went into autopilot. I have a mental one of those crappy features in Word.
Raging Bull's my favorite but it's too fucking depressing, so I voted Goodfellas. Vote Bull. Depressing movies are good for you.

I voted for Taxi Driver over Raging Bull, but it's a tough call. I'm surprised there's no votes so far for Mean Streets or The Departed. Both were great.

Tough one. For me it was between Raging Bull and Taxi Driver. I had to go with Raging Bull, it had Deniro, Pesci, and boxing. Taxi Driver was a unique story, with great visuals and dialogue but Raging Bull was damn near a masterpiece of a movie.

I agree with you,I do think however,DeNiros' potrayal of Jake was the biggest draw to Raging Bull. How many actors will actually gain 60+LBs. for a part?

Not sure. They're about even, but movies like Raging Bull I only watch once, so it's harder to really appreciate. I like to watch and rewatch movies, but Raging Bull is one of those exceptions.
Requiem to a Dream is kind of like that two. I saw it twice in a row because I knew I wouldn't want to get that depressed again.
It's been like 10 years though, so I may throw it on again.
