Rogan was not at PNC last year. The fued was going on at that point. Maybe it was the .34 alcohol level but he had the crowd laughing for about 20 min. And that was following Otto and George, Norton, Bill Burr, Bob Kelly, Andre Dice Gay, Bob Saget, Patrice, etc

Hey, I hope you all are planning to come to our monster tailgate, and not just the virus show. If its cool, i will post here some info on how to find us, and I'd love to add you all to the list of people coming to join us at the tailgate as well. Feel free to bring along some food and drink too, although that is by no means necessary.

We have two 5 ft grills we are firing up and TONS of food and beer. This is massive and should have well over 200 people attending. Please join us early and spend all day with us and anyone who wants to volunteer to help with set up, let me know.

Thank you miss friday for being a far better ambassador then i have been. LOVE YOU !

This Year is the Second Annual, FBA sponsored, but all boards/fans welcome PNC Supertailgate party at the oooooooo and eeeeeeyyyyy traveling virus:

WE'RE ADDING A GUITAR HERO COMPETITION THIS YEAR, with the grand prize being a GH3 package with guitar. We have easy, medium and hard levels, but you need to sign up if you want to play. See FBA for details. If you can't play, Come watch Angry Missy try to take down Danny from O&A. Apparently he is a GH savant.

There will also be A FULL ON BEER PONG TOURNAMENT, signups over there too.

AND.....WIFFLE BALL, BOCCI, MONSTER VOLLYBALL, AND....ROUND TWO OF THE ONE LEGGED STANDING COMPETITION (NO SIGN UP REQUIRED)

LOGISTICS: Early Birds are going to meet at the Cheesequake reststop on the parkway, located at mile # 123, and its just about 6 miles north of the PNC, and is accessible from both sides of the parkway. We can head over there as early as you want-- and start gathering maybe around 10, have some breakfast, paint our cars, and just gather. As of now, the plan will be to leave the Cheesequake area at 11:00 am to caravan as a group over to where we will be tailgating. The time is subject to change based on when the parking lot actually opens. (And hopefully the great Club Soda Kenny can work some magic for us since we were fairly well behaved last year).

If you want to have your car with us, make sure you meet us at the Rest Area, or show up at PNC by 12. For the rest of you-- park wherever, and come find us. Our plan is to get into the main lot in front of the gates, but probably a row back so that the early arrivers who are not with us wont' take up spots in our area. The earlier you arrive, the more likely you will be able to park with us. If not, just park and walk over to find us. We will have huge banners and pat from moonachie's van, so it shouldn't be impossible to find us. If you can get the cell number of one of the early arrivers, that would help.

FBA also has lists of who is coming, what they are bringing, and what you can bring if you are so inclined. Hope to see lots of you out there-- it is truly a great party!!!!

mods, if i have overstepped any bounds here, i apologize in advance and feel free to spank me and delete as necessary. and thanks mikey!

Troopers patrol parking lots at PNC center
Saturday, August 18, 2007 BY RUDY LARINI AND MARK MUELLER
Star-Ledger Staff

Unable to rein in rampant underage drinking before shows, the PNC Bank Arts Center abruptly banned alcohol consumption in the Holmdel venue's parking lots yesterday following the deaths of two concert-goers and the arrests of 83 others Thursday night.
Officials with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, which owns the 17,500-seat arts center, characterized the decision as a measure of last resort. Despite a stepped-up police presence and hundreds of well-publicized arrests since spring, teenagers still openly engaged in booze-soaked tailgate parties.
"The warnings, the arrests, the media coverage, none of it mattered," said Joe Orlando, a Turnpike Authority spokesman. "Instead of seeing arrests go down, they went up. We really had only one direction to go with this."
Authorities continue to investigate Thursday's deaths, which occurred during "Ozzfest," a day-long lineup of heavy metal bands.
The victims, Raymond Guarino, 26, of Forked River, and Patrick Norris, 24, of Coram, N.Y., are believed to have ingested a combination of alcohol, marijuana and cocaine, State Police said. Both were pronounced dead at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel.
Despite the new prohibition, alcohol flowed freely in the sprawling parking lots last night, when the amphitheater played host to another hard rock lineup. The uniformed State Police presence was hardly obtrusive, and troopers on numerous occasions did not enforce the measure.
Rob Bello, a 28-year-old Bayville resident, played beer pong with friends atop the bed of a pickup truck. Their concession to the ban -- keeping their drinks in red plastic cups -- appeased the two troopers who approached them shortly after 6 p.m.
"They just said they don't want to see open containers," Bello said. "We're going to drink until they tell us not to."
Orlando said troopers would be "using their discretion" in enforcement given how hastily the prohibition went into effect. No arrests were immediately reported.
Adults with proper identification are still permitted to buy up to three 16-ounce beers inside the arts center.
Flashing signs on the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike warned concert-goers that alcohol would no longer be permitted in the parking lots. Many people last night said that was the first they had heard of the policy.
Most of those who assembled in the hours before the concert were adults: men and women in their 20s, middle-aged couples and a few graying rockers. They had come to see the bands Velvet Revolver, Alice in Chains and Kill Hannah.
Almost universally, the fans criticized the ban on alcohol, saying the many should not be penalized for the mistakes of the few.
"The rest of the state shouldn't have to suffer because a couple of kids went overboard," said Chris Hunt, 37, of Morris Plains.
Some said they expect the decision will hurt the arts center by prompting fans -- and ultimately the bands that rely on them -- to seek out other venues. Others complained the concerts themselves will not be as much fun if fans are sober, or at least mostly so.
"It will put a total buzz-kill on the show," said Marie Ladolcetta, the manager of the metal band Smokin' Aces. "As long as you're responsible, what's the harm?"
The problem, authorities say, it that too many people -- especially young people -- haven't been responsible.
Though arrests for underage drinking occur every year at the arts center, state officials have placed a greater emphasis on enforcement since a Gwen Stefani concert in May, when 15 minors, including a 12-year-old, were treated at hospitals for problems stemming from excessive drinking.
"You had 15-year-old kids falling down drunk and a 12-year-old with alcohol poisoning," said Orlando, the Turnpike Authority spokesman. "It got to a critical point where there were so many parents outraged, so we said, 'Okay, we're going to address it head on.'"
Since then, troopers have made more than 500 arrests, the majority of them for underage drinking, said Sgt. Stephen Jones, a State Police spokesman. Other counts have included drug possession, disorderly conduct and assault.
On Aug. 10, police arrested 54 fans at an Incubus concert. One day later, 92 fans were charged when O.A.R. played the arts center.
The pattern continued Thursday at Ozzfest, a 15-band concert headlined by Ozzy Osbourne, the former Black Sabbath front man and reality TV star. More than 13,000 fans turned out for the free show.
Of the 83 arrests, 59 were for underage drinking, police said. Other charges included providing alcohol to minors, presenting false identification, drug distribution and lewd behavior.
State Police said Guarino, the victim from Forked River, col lapsed at about 3:15 p.m. as he entered the arts center. Paramedics resuscitated him at the scene and brought him to the Holmdel hospital. He died at 11:25 p.m.
Friends of the man told troopers Guarino had been drinking alcohol and using marijuana and cocaine, and investigators found both drugs when they searched the car Guarino had arrived in, Jones said.
Norris, the victim from New York, sought help at a medical station during the concert, complaining of nausea and a headache, Jones said. Taken by ambulance to the same hospital at about 10 p.m., he suffered seizures and died a short time later.
Autopsies were to be performed on both men.
Though not involving juveniles, the deaths added new gravity to the problems at the arts center. Noting the continuing arrests, Gov. Jon Corzine yesterday came out in support of the ban, calling it a "dramatic" but necessary step.
"While the State Police have been vigilant about enforcing the laws at the venue, it is clear that the message about underage drinking is not getting through," Corzine said.

Eventually tailgating will be a thing of the past. Obviously the venue would rather have you to go in early and pay 8 bucks a beer then sit out in the parking lot drinking your 30 pack.

The pusification of society never stops... just like with smoking in bars, or language on radio, etc etc, we will just sit here and watch it happen right in front of our eyes. No one wants to be the guy who stands up and proclaims "we should be able to get hammered in the parking lot before a game" I hate having to feel like I am 16 smoking a joint in my basement if I want to have a beer in a parking lot before the show Saturday...

this is the gist of it

Please note that grilling and tailgating are still permitted in the PNC parking lots but that alcohol can no longer be consuming in those locations due to the tragic events of last week and prior issues regarding underaged drinking in the PNC lots.

I am copying this post from HappyTypingGirl... just so everyone knows what the dilly is for the "main" tailgate.
Very excited for the weekend... should be good times with good buddays!

Since a lot of people are asking what is up for Saturdays tailgate-- here is MY UNOFFICIAL TAKE ON THE SITUATION. Whatever you decide to do, you do as a grown adult making your own decisions. Hows that for a disclaimer?

Here is what I know and can report, most of it you already know.

Due to events at Ozzfest, PNC has announced a policy that they will be permitting tailgating and grilling, but no alcohol in the parking lots.

WARNING: THERE IS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR UNDERAGE DRINKING AND MINORS WITH ALCOHOL WILL BE ARRESTED!!!!!!!!! PLEASE DON'T TAKE CHANCES THAT WILL FUCK THINGS UP FOR THE REST OF US! LETS SHOW PNC THAT THE O&A CROWD ARE NOT THE ASSHOLES THEY THINK WE ARE

The official word is that adults found with alcohol can be fined, and possibly expelled from the premises.

There is also an announcement on Foundry that the Parking Lots will not Open Until 4pm. I have also heard some indications that the lot cannot really be closed, and that it is possible to get in earlier.

Unofficially-- through some off the record conversations and some reports in newspapers and interviews with some troopers-- if you are of age, and are drinking out of a solo cup, and are behaving responsibly and not being an asshole-- you will MOST LIKELY not be bothered.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE. Is it possible you will be fined or kicked out for drinking? Yes. Do we think they are going to bother us? No.

SO.....WHERE DOES THIS LEAVE US AND OUR TAILGATE?

My plan is to go forward with our tailgate plans with the following provisos:

#1: NO TOLERANCE OF UNDERAGE DRINKING OF ANY KIND
#2: Don't act like an asshole, don't get completely shitfaced, and stick to the lighter drinks, like beer/sangria. I wouldn't use this opportunity to do major amounts of shots or get out of control.
#3: ALL DRINKS should be in plastic solo cups, and be discreet with your coolers full of booze.
#3: Not sure where we stand on timing. I'm going to see if i can get some more information. Worst case scenario, we will start a little later (maybe 2:00 at cheesequate and 4:00 at PNC).

This will still be a HUGE PARTY. Bring alochol at your own risk of possibly having it dumped out, confiscated or possibly being fined. I'm personally still planning to tailgate, and I'm brining beer. I do not recommend drinking at bars and then driving to PNC but, hey-- its your life, do what you want.

I'll post more details as Deb posts them on FBA (deb I hope you don't mind... I am enjoying being a board ambassador of sorts... )
If anyone wants to meet up... or exchange cell numbers, just PM me.
Otherwise... I will see you all in the VIP lot on Saturday! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Update from HTG on FBA

Okay, here is my update for this thread.
I am moving the meetup / leave time by an hour.

I am planning to get to the Cheesequake rest area around 11 or 11:30.
Please arrive by 12:00 if you are coming with us.
We will be leaving for PNC by 12:30 at the latest.

I know that foundry posted that the gates won't be opening until 4:00.
BUT.

a) there are no gates at PNC
b) last year they gave strict opening times which proved to be untrue
c) i have heard from a VERY good source, that we will be able to get in at 12:30. i cannot of course guarantee this, and i don't want to be blamed if we get there and i'm wrong. however, i am trusting my source. i hope many of you will join me.

the rest of you can join us later.

u think I can get away with a few (7 or8) 20 oz cokes filled with the Captain.

Or will they release the dogs? Or the bees? Or the dogs with bees in their mouth and when they bark they shoot bees at you?

if so , I am allergic to Bees, I gotta be on my guard

if you premix them, and then drive with them, i think they are considered open containers, so be careful. i would mix them there in the parking lot

Auschwitz doesn't even begin to describe the heat.....

Got to cheesquake at noon... smooth sailing into the venue and hardly a cop to be seen today. The event was fun ... good food, good drink, and the best part about drinking in one Meeelion degree weather is you don't ever have to pee because you sweat it out so quickly! Hurrah!

The show was great... it was nice to see a bunch of RonFez.net faces! Sorry I lost in the 2nd round of Easy Guitar Hero :(

But the comics rocked! And a good time was had indeed!

The baggers and I had a blast! :bye:

Well, Hassan actually HAD 3 minutes only for his act, but yeah, the crowd was f'ing brutal. He made it through the whole thing though.

I don't even really remember the tailgate because I think I had heatstroke. I was soaked in sweat, it was unbearable. The Guitar Hero tourney was still doing the Medium round when the show started and I wasn't going to miss Hassan, so I missed that.

The show was great, Lewis Black was definitely the best.

Great show but if it had rained that "lawn" would have looked like California during the rainy season.

Actual picture of the "lawn" at PNC http://gallery.phillyburbs.com/photos/90/32/600x397.aspx

Thank God (FM Jeff that is) for the clear skies. Pronto saves!

Other then that the comics were all pretty tight with my fav being Bob Saget. Sure he may have over did it with the cursing here and there, but his material was pretty hilarious. I did like Lewis Black and CK (both new fragrances at Macy's) and the videos of Norton's past with his friends cracked me up. Funny enough I've heard it all before, but the videos were hilarious and it reminded me of my childhood hijinx as well.

And how weird was it to run into Reilly and her catch in the middle of the lawn? I'm pretty sure she was searching the mud for gooey ducks but nobody knows for sure.

PNC fucking pulls through again. My favorite show to date. First of all, best tailgate ever!

I really liked seeing a lot of people who I haven't seen in a while and then some new people who I've never met. Good times and that's what matters. Had a blast with them. Food was phenomenal as well! Especially Rich W and H-Cup Jane for their bruschetta and bbq shrimp. Yum. The Guitar Hero championship was fun. Dru Boogie spinning and Khem rapping were great.

The show itself was excellent. Set of the night was either Louis CK or Lewis Black. While I've been to a bunch of the Virus shows and seen CK, his material this time was all new and had me dying. Maybe it's cause I'm from upstate New York but the bit about the deer was my favorite of the night. Lewis Black is just a legend who I've loved for a long time. He was damn good and you could tell he was really having a ball onstage and was glad to be a part of it.

Meet and greet afterwards was the same as all of them, but this time Bob Saget hung out and Lewis Black was there. Really cool!

Anyway... I don't know what else to say other then it fucking ruled. I'll have my pics up in a bit.

Is menica afraid to do a show in the northeast? Or has he done one?

Mencia did Detroit. He was BY FAR the best. I don't buy into the Rogan/Mencia crap. O&A spout off so much stuff, you don't know what to believe. Anyway, Mencia closed the Detroit show and brought the house down, no shit. He must have done 40-45 minutes non-stop. Jimmy was on before him and when Jimmy's set was done, a few people left, I felt bad for them. I thought it was going to be uncomfortable, but Mencia tore right into it and killed. I really didn't care for Mencia before then, I think his "Mind id Mencia" show stinks, but when I saw him live, wow, was he terrific. Definately a fan now.

the whole experience was fucking great. I wanted to go last year but couldn't. But, I'm glad I went this year. It was kinda funny that the left side of the parking seemed to be full of hardcore O&A fans and the right side was just doing their own thing, i guess. Hanging around was great. Indeed, hot as balls.

The comics are hilarous. Good times all around.

I enjoyed the show a lot, Bobby Kelly gets better and better each time. He's really solid now. It was nice hanging out with everyone, though me and stump didn't bother looking for RFnetters to sit with on the lawn, we were tired and found an open space. Sucks we missed Spoon though!

I don't know, I think people need to know who bad Robocop 3 is. It's that kinda nerd humor that fun for me. Like some comic referencing Dune or Patton Oswalt talking about the Green Lantern. Now, me for example, I love the first Robocop. Classy all the way. Robocop 2, some people like but i'm kinda ehhh towards it. 3 is just an abortion. Who cares if he befriends a little girl and rides around in a jetpack killing japanese robots. Killing off his partner chick from the first one was a travesty.
