Every Dunkin Donuts I go to down here is run by a bunch of idiots. I get a large iced coffee, 2 cream, 2 sugar, with a shot of espresso. (aka a Turbo Ice) One place I ask for 2 cream, the bitch hits the large cream button twice (8 creams since the large button is 4) then argues with me that she's right, and gets pissy when she has to remake it.

Another place I place my regular order, the kid has no idea what espresso is, and asks me if I want a different "flavor" like hazelnut.

Another time, the lady gives me double cream, because thats what she thinks "2 creams" means.

Today I order a large turbo ice (i dont normally ask for it that way, because I know they won't know what it means, but I saw it on the menu and decided to give it a shot) The genderless idiot at the drive through gives me a large coffee with all this brown and tan goo in the bottom of the cup. I ask while pointing to the cup "What's this brown shit"? He says "That's caramel and fudge" I say " I asked for a turbo iced coffee " he says "yeah that's how I make them"

WTF?

When we're at the point in society when we don't trust people, no matter the fact they are illiterate idiots, to pour liquid from one jug into a cup, we've lost something.

And it's Dunkin' Donuts, don't expect anything from those glassy eyed people who have this confused look everytime someone steps to their register. Don't get me wrong, I like DD coffee. I put it below 7-11 and above Starbucks, but I've never seen anyone working there who could pass for "eloquent" or "clean."

DD got to big too fast and the service that was once good, is now watered down to the crappy service and coffee that you speak of. I used to get bfast there, but now I just cook my own b/c its better and how I want it. Also, the majority of the employees that work there are punk hs kids that could careless about how much your coffee means.

DD employees are just idiots now. I go through this situation at least once a week :

Dunkin Employee : Can I help you?
Me : Can I have a supreme omelet with bacon on a plain bagel.
DD : Any coffee?
Me : Yes, a medium french vanilla iced coffee, light with 3 sugars.
DD : Did you want ham, sausage or bacon on that supreme omelet?
Me : Bacon.
DD : And that was on a croissant?
Me : No, plain bagel.
DD : Toasted?
Me : Yes.
DD : Ok, drive up.

*gets to window*

DD : That was a medium coffee, with milk?
Me : French vanilla, light, 3 sugars.
DD : Ok.

*DD Employee proceeds to make coffee dark, not light*

I used to be loyal to Dunkin Donuts coffee, but 7-11 is definitely better. Fuck Starbucks.

i prefer dunkin donuts over starbucks anyday. but DD really sucks at customer service. I miss the diner like feel it had when i was younger.

so now, I go to dunkin donuts and buy the ground coffee and make it on my own.

My first job was at dunkin donuts, I remember having to take one order for multiple coffees, and while making that order, taking another one via the headset. Now these idiots can't even remember more than one item from the same customer.

7-11 coffee?? Blechh... Starbucks is too fancy shmancy feels like I'm getting dessert, I just want a big ass fresh tasting strong cup of coffee with the right amount of cream so I don't fart

What kind of woman orders an iced coffee? If you have the words iced or turbo in your order you have already proven that you have no idea what coffee is about in the first place.

Florida has probably the highest concentration of immigrants from S America and Cuba and your telling me we dont know about coffee. Get a clue dude.

I work nights, get my coffee at 5pm in 100 degrees wtf I want a hot beverage for? Turbo sounds pretty macho to me. They might know how to pick the beans, but pouring a cup is a different story.

The Sheetz convenience stores around here added a pretty damn good gourmet coffee bar. They do a decent job, but what bugs me is when I just want a double shot of espresso. They give it to me in a giant cup. I ask them to put it in a small cup. They always ask how I'm going to fit any coffee on top. When I tell them I just want to drink the espresso straight, they're like "Really? EWWWWW!!!"

I gotta back you up on this one. Sometimes, on a hot day, Iced is the only way to go. If it's balls hot outside, but you still want the caffeine and taste of coffee, gotta go iced.

It's possible to get a good cup in FL. Try a local bagel place or something. Those always had the best coffee when I was down there.

I disagree with iced coffee drinkers. It's hot, and black, and that's coffee, no matter the temperature. Iced is for pussies.

Yet iced coffee without some sort of milk or cream just looks weird to me.

You Don't Know What You're Missing! F_S Makes Hot Coffee Every Morning, But Every Single Night In The Summer He Goes To The Local DD To Get A Large Iced Coffee, "Light" (Whole Milk) With An Equal. It's Almost As Satisfying As A Milkshake, But Without All The Calories. And It Is Still Loaded With All The Caffeine A Body Needs To Stay Up Till 3 Every Night!

It's SUMMER, Man! In The Summer If You Are A Tea Drinker, You Drink Iced Tea. If A Coffee Drinker, You Drink Iced Coffee. (You Drink Cocoa If You're 12, Summer Or Winter).

i like getting lattes at DD and have recently started getting my iced lattes "lite" to cut down on some calories i really don't need. half the stores list this on their menu, the other half have no clue what i mean when i order it. "what's that?" it's very disheartening. the main reason for going to a chain like that is to get the same experience every time, anywhere in the country. it's a humongous flaw the lack of consistency from one DD to another.

Damn, No Wonder They Are Confused: When F_S Orders His "Light", He Means "Light In Color"...Which Means Alot Of Milk.

Does Sailor Uses "Light" To Mean Skim Or 2% Milk?

F_S Actually Says This When He Orders To Make It Clear "Light, With Whole Milk".

i'm not a big coffee drinker, but when i'm in the mood, i just want an old school cup of joe. no frapa-this or something-ccino. i'm not gonna rattle off a tongue-twister to order a cup, just two words: "coffee regular".

my wife gets her coffee light and sweet, meaning more milk, like yourself. the menu item "iced latte lite" is with skim milk and splenda. if it's confusing, the problem is DD's for making the menu confusing for their staff. like you i've since taken to ordering it "iced latte with skim milk and splenda" even thought the menu spells this out in big letters behind the clerk. and, sadly, they do spell it "lite"

Who cares? Tampa, (more specifically Ybor) invented the greatest sandwich in the history of sandwiches. By the way come down to Ybor and have a shot of cuban coffee and then talk.

My point is this, you like sugar, milk and a caffeine buzz; you know nothing of coffee. Maybe step outside of corporate America and try stuff prepared by people who know what they are doing. You happened to disparage an entire state filled with such people, a state that I happened to have been born and raised in, so I felt compelled to call you a girl for your poor choice in "coffee" drinks and establishments.:dry::dry:

no ones saying whether their coffee is good or bad (unless i missed something) just that the people are not doing their jobs well and giving the customers what they want. and we know what we like in coffee, lay off the cultural elitism.

This is a real question... Does 7-11 really have good coffee? ( Like strong, fresh brewed, hot coffee, not the fru-fru iced stuff or the kind that you push one button for hot chocolate and the other button for "cappichino") I have never tried 7-11 coffee. Love the Starbucks though.

Oooo, I had my 8 oz of coffee for the day, I'm pooped. That's so much more faggotish than iced coffee. Also, I hate having the idea of lugging around that thermos. It just seems like too much work for something to remember throughout the day and in the morning.

Love the Starbucks though. 7-11 doesn't have cappucino, it has what I consider flavored powdered cocoa. I don't even know if Dunkin Donuts has real lattes or if they have the same powdered shit or if it's just "syrup + coffee = latte" but I don't trust any place where I can't see unnecessarily complicated equipment for anything above coffee. However, for plain black coffee-coffee I think 711 is fantastic. I hate the taste of Starbucks, I prefer places like Intelligentsia (ooo I'm fancy) or just regular coffee shops.

Its not elitism, its a fact. If I want a good hamburger Im not going to Mcdonalds. If I want good breakfast and coffee, Dunkin Donuts is not where its at. If you're going to the bottom of the barrel and then complaining about the crap you get, Ill call you on it.

To title the thread "Florida does not understand..." is begging for a confrontation, especially when the guy's talking out of his ass. Florida has a huge Cuban and Columbian population there are some awesome fucking places to get coffee. From my house there is at least 10 within a 15 minute drive in any direction. Habana Joes, Cuban Cafe, Cafe Madrid, The Cuban Sandwich shop, all have amazing coffee and food. Get out and find good places to eat.

I generally drink two 16 oz. mugs of coffee before I leave for work in the morning. That usually gets me through till about 10 a.m., then it's time for Diet Cokes.

We also have one of these things at my office in case I need an extra boost.
