So anyway, I was looking for a snack this evening, and I had a loaf of a bread and was looking for something to make a sandwich with, when I found a tupperware container of leftover spaghetti. I thought "what the hell" and put a couple of forkfulls of spaghetti and sauce between two slices of bread. Delicious.

I wouldn't advise this sandwich if you're on the Atkins diet, but it sure is tasty. Also, if I am not the originator of said glorious sandwich, I'm sure whoever did is positively white trash. If I owned a diner I would proudly serve the spaghetti sandwich, along with the Thanksgiving sandwich, which is turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and cranberries between two slices of bread.

Note: given the rules as set forth by the de facto American Earl of Sandwich, David McDonald, said concoction is not technically a sandwich

Dammit. Is that true, or are you just trying to discourage genius? You have to try this thing, IT'S DELICIOUS!!!!!!!

You, my friend, are an innovator. I would gladly hire you at my imaginary diner.

Actually, you want to put a slice of Mozzarella or Provolone on it, then stick it in the toaster oven (with the garlic salt).

Hey Mikeyboy. Let's go into business together. We could get free beer! After all... There comes a time, when you have to admit that, the whole lawyer thing just ain't working out for ya.

you were looking for me? lol

Thanksgiving sandwich, which is turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and cranberries between two slices of bread.

Already been invented years ago. Most places in NY or NJ call it a turkey gobler. Its very tasty.

this place (http://www.menupages.com/restaurantdetails.asp?neighborhoodid=9&restaurantid=5530) has a great (if expensive) thanksgiving sandwich.

My brother used to make spaghetti sandwiches when we were kids; he refused to eat anything that wasn't a sandwich back then. His condiment of choice was applesauce. LOTS of applesauce.

Noodles, meat, tomato sauce, grated cheese and applesauce on white bread. Yeah, that just screams "yum."

I'm struggling to think of what I should say. All I can come up with is...

East Side Dave is normal.

I've been eating that since I was a kid. I can help you out in the kitchen. As you know, I make a damn fine sauce.

P.S. Mojo hates everything.

I'm starting to think wistfully about my imaginary diner.

Most lawyers I know (myself included) wistfully think about their "business I would run if I weren't sitting in this stupid office" idea approximately 178 times per day.

I could also see the spaghetti sandwich working well on some sort of toasted roll, a spaghetti hero if you will.

That's what I use to make my spaghetti sandwich. I also use garlic butter on the outside.

Those sandwich makers are great you can put any leftovers in there.

Never tried the spaghetti sandwich. It sounds alright. Reminds me of my college days when me and my roommate used to eat popcorn sandwiches. I had a box of popcorn flavouring that had about 40 different flavours in it. We would make popcorn, add whatever flavour we felt like that day, and make a couple sandwiches with wonderbread and butter. It actually wasn't too bad, better than Spam sanny's at least.

Hate to beat this dead horse a little more, but:

sandwich, n --two or more slices of bread or the like with a layer of meat, fish, cheese, etc., between each pair.

Can spaghetti qualify as an appropriate sandwich filler?

Yes, esp if it has meat sauce

Such wistful thinking is NOT limited to lawyers. I know an Orthodontist who dreams longingly of the day he can stop telling kids to wear their elastics and brush their teeth more than once a month and chuck it all and buy a charter boat in the Carribbean. I(I mean HE) would grow out his hair into white man dread locks and fish for marlin and wahoo all day and not care whether he had a charter or not.

A nice ciabatta bread would make that sandwich perfect.
How does this Mikeyboy find the time for these things and run this board what a rennaisance man

Does anybody else find the corn kernels in there highly disturbing?

I believe I will try a panini version of this gastronomical indulgence. I will take the Dr.'s suggestion of a ciabatta, a little olive oil on both sides, provolone or mozzarella, and throw it all in the panini press...

My favorite is putting my mother's macaroni soup (it's a thick soup) between a slice of bread, it's good!
