Hey buddyas!!

I just returned from a couple of days in jersey city. I was a very good trip I didnt realize that it was so close to Manhattan. I interviewed for a Paramedic Job at JCMC, so the coordinator set me up with a ride along with one of the paramedic units, which was fun. I got my friends brownstone (which looks like rowhouse), got changed then headed out to dinner. We at the hamilton park ale house, very good food. i would recommend it. Then I was taken around jersey city, saw the PD stations, FD stations, MLK bvld, and then hung out by the hudson looking at the NYC skyline.

I had a good trip, nice looking city, kinda loud around 6am though. Good vibe too.

FUCK THE HATERS....YES I USED AN "F"

ive been living here for 22 yrs. throughout all these years, ive seen from horrible...to incredible! downtown is just the start. there are so many places for entertainment! I love the culture. this city has so many different ethnic resteraunts, arts and leisure.

yeah, sure we have some ghettos, but so what? so does a lot of other cities. Manhattan being of them!!!!

My neighborhood is great...stugots can attest to that. I have a beautiful apartment in a great area. 30 minutes away from NY where i work.

I wanted to tell you to stop over at the Majestic some great drinks across the street from city hall on Grove Street. It is absolutely amazing having drinks and appetizers outside there...especially this weekend!!! Grove st. is a very cultural area.

Newport center mall has totally cleaned up and did a complete 360.

My good friend works for JCMC and he toured me through some of the ougher areas where he has done calls, like MLK Blvd and the Bayonne area looked a bit rough. But I had such a good time, i would love the chance to work there. During my ride along we were in weehawken and hoboken, where appreantly cutting off someone off is a way of life, lots of culture thats for sure.

I believe they provide paramedic service to Bayonne, hoboken, Weehawken, Seacucas, JC, Union city and both tunnels. forgive me i missed any cities

Hope you get the job. Good luck.

I'm going to be working in Hudson County starting next month (transferring from Monmouth county). Maybe we'll run across each other if I need an ambulance to take away one of my peeps who's decomping and needs to be screened at the hospital.

I remember they did an episode of COPS there. They went through my backyard to chase after some african americans.

I remember when crack addicts used to smoke around the corner from me and they threw a rock into my sister's window. Then they left a gallon of urine in my yard.

Then there was the time I got into trouble with the 8 ball posse at Canton billiards in journal square. That's where I learned my run and spraying mace at the same time technique.

You can still pick up prostitutes on 1 & 9, and now new locations off of snake road next to the block drug building and conveniently close to christ hospital.

Oh, and let's not forget the terrorism. The terrorist on 911 may have called Saudi Arabia home, but when in america, they stay in Jersey City.

No silly goose. i live on the same block as the firehouse. The JCMC rents the bottom floor for the Paramedics. they used to be @ McCabe's Ambulance's Garage but got kicked out & now they are on my block taking up more parking spots. I personally do not care for them all they do is get in my Firemans way & smaoke cigs outside. I think as of Sept 1st the fireman are going to be moving out of that firehouse & going to the M.O.T. that means that those jerky Paramedics will have the house to themselves. i hate them even more now.

No I am sorry i should have made myself a little clearer. I grew up & still live on the block that the firehouse is on. I have alot of fireman friends. they play with the kids & let them go on the firetruck & give them the little fireman hats. Good times

WHOA.....you must be kidding me with this post. Im sure the paramedics or MC didnt "kick" them out of anywhere for one thing. The firestation is more likely owned by the city and they being moved for a better than "paramedics told us too"

Dude. They showed you all the nice looking places in daylight. When it gets dark......that's another story. I've worked in Essex, Somerset, Monmouth and soon to be Hudson county. Whenever we used to get greenbacks (new people I call them) coming in, we originally used to take them for the "tour" of the nice areas first, then ease them into the not so good areas. Now whenever we get greenbacks, we start them out in the "hood" (ofcourse they're with a partner) and find out if they'll like the job or not. We always put bets out on new people coming in to see how long they'll last. (Ofcourse we never collect, since the bets aren't really real, but the newbies don't know that!)

No thats not why they are moving to the M.O.T. the city does want to sell the building & more than likely the JCMC will buy it. But if they where not in it in the first place that option might have never came up.

I lived in JC for 3 years, first by the Hudson and then further in by Grove St. and loved it! I went back last year to visit some friends and was amazed that it looked even better than before I moved. I thought it was like the wild west before I moved up there, but it pretty much kicked ass, I'd gladly move back in a hearbeat.
