Harry Potter Movie - As delightful as the books. I'm awaiting the second one (Chamber of Secrets) with the same degree of anticipation as the next Star Wars movie.
C'mon JK Rawlings, start cranking out the next 3 books.

First off, that hermoine chick is at least 10 and she's fine. I was actually referring to the audience, IkeaBoy. AnyWHO, 10 years old?!? As O and A would say, they have to be at least be in two digits... gee gee gee.
IkeaBoy I stand corrected. I mean I sit corrected. I have bad posture by the way.

was it that good... i heard it was average at best
If you didn't read the books, don't bother seeing it. They worked so hard to make it as true to the books as possible (as well they needed to so as not to piss of the millions of fans of the book) that the movie left those of us who hadn't read the books behind. They didn't explain a lot of stuff they should have (who were all those ghost like things and what purpose did they serve?). As a plot, it totally lacked. They very conveinently explained everything after it happened, instead of making it so the audience figured things out along with the characters, which is plot-writing 101. Also, there were so many things that were crucial to the plot that didn't make sense (Why didn't the red haired kid just get off the knight?)
As a kids movie it was great, I'm sure. The books did a ton to instill the joy of reading in children and that is great. JK Rowling deserves her billions.
But, if you are an adult of average intelligence and didn't read the books, don't waste your money. The effects weren't cool enough to waste your money and the jokes were lame.
I pray Lord of the Rings doesn't fall into the same inevitable trap. Popular Book to movie is ALWAYS a hard line to walk.

Who wanted to stab the blonde kid from the Slyverines? The movie was pretty good. It was good enough for me to go out and get the book to read it AFTER I saw the movie.
