I am seriously pissed!
I bought a book on Amazon in the middle of June. It was a comic book graphic novel.
A few days after I ordered it, I get an email that they ran out and expect a new shipment in the middle of July and if I still want it, to respond and let them know, but I have to wait. It seemed like a good deal (even though the comic book was $40), so I waited. The middle of July comes and I get another email that they ran out again and I would have to wait till the end of Aug. if I want it and to let them know. Now I am getting bothered.
I get an email today saying that they ran out AGAIN, and that the new target date is JANUARY 08!
I sent them a response that said basically go fuck yourself, cancel my order! I order something in June and you tell me it will be a half a year to wait? Unacceptable!

I immediately look on eBay... Same book, though softcover was $20 with shipping! I just bought it. I sent another email to Amazon that I will never do business with them again.

Its strange because I never had a problem with them before this, but now this one incident ruined them in my mind.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

I have only ordered from Amazon a couple of times and there was not a single problem but a friend of mine ordered a How to Book from them and when he got it, the cover was what it was supposed to be but the insides were of a different book entirely. I never did find out the outcome. I find I have the problem you faced when ordering uniforms for work...always on back order until you finally scream and demand your money back. Ever notice how THEY want THEIR money upfront?

yes. i ordered ric flair biography from some amazon douchebag and he jerked me off for a good 2 months before i sent him some shitty feedback basically saying he was a scam and an asshole and he IMMEDIATLEY sent my $$ back and asked me to remove the comment, which i did NOT! fuck that guy! i then got the book from somewhere else and enjoyed it thinking about that asshole with his shitty feedback never getting another sale again, going bankrupt, losing his family and half of his possesions in a divorce and eventually killing himself. haha.

Not that I want to defend Amazon, but release problems like that are typically because of something on the end of the publisher.

F_S Bought Quite A Few New CD's From Amazon This Summer, And They Always Arrived Quickly; Were Well Packed; And There Were No Billing Problems.

However, F_S Also Ordered Quite A Few USED CD's Via Amazon From Their Subs, Where The Individual Vendors Shipped The Product Out Of Their Own Inventories. Here, There Were Quite A Few Problems: Delays; Incorrect Orders; Damaged Products; And Billings To The Credit Card When Goods Were NOT Shipped.

Amazon Itself: A+
Amazon Subs: C

i love amazon. they offered me a free trial to amazon prime, and i didn't even mind when i forgot to cancel it... i order graphic novels, textbooks, dvds, i send gifts. i even bought my dad's tv stand from them. 2-day shipping free, or 1-day for $3.99. i've also returned books in less than perfect shape with no hassles.

the only bad experience was with the marketplace. i ordered a textbook and it didn't shop up for weeks. they refunded my money, and it showed up the next day in tattered packaging. i swear they sent it parcel post. i'd already ordered another one directly from amazon, who then had it in stock for cheaper. i returned one of them and actually made some money

just curious what book was it.

This only happened once to me, I ordered a book around xmas and they kept pushing the date back, its what 8 months later and still backordered. It pissed me off at the time but I still do business with them, I get all my tpb 30% off and free shipping

lesson learned, NEVER order from an amazon seller, only order directly from amazon so you will never have those kind of problems

The marketplace can be hit or miss, just because you're dealing with outside sellers instead of Amazon, but I've been ordering from Amazon for years (60+ orders over the last 7 years) and never had a problem.

Amazon has NEVER let me down. Even during the Christmas rush. Perfect.

My only issue is their cookie rentention. I had not been on for months. Sean had a bone for a new Pokemon game. He went searching while I was at work.
2 days later, a shiny new game appears in the mailbox.
It took him months to pay that off.
A lesson learned for both of us.

Amazon has been fantastic to me. I've been doing business with them for at least 7 years and they've always provided fast shipping and accurate shipments. Amazon is one of the very few websites I will gladly purchase from. Amazon, Newegg and BangBus.

If you start sapping the Amazon phone system, making a ruckus to actual human operators, I'd be surprised if you can't get a nice chunk of amazon cash to spend on their site. The quacky whirl gets the goose or whatever.
