Finally watched "Boondock Saints" yesterday. It was great, not even Dafoe was able to ruin it.

They've done this a million times, haven't they?
They've done scary movies (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2442), sad movie (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2900)s, and a lot of Ron's favorite films came up in this discussion of the 90s. (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2603) Plus, at free fm they did the greatest NY movies. I don't know what would top Ron's all time list ... Probably stuff by Wes Anderson, Woody Allen, Scorsese, and Tarantino.
Me ... I like the cartoon movies. Movies for adults are too challenging.

Yeah Connolly was great. I'll be netflixing "Overnight" next, which is the documentary about the guy who made it and apparently self destructed in some way. Again on Ronnie B.'s advice.

Jesus man, what cave have you been living in??
And I agree with you on mean machine. I was telling someone that it was ripped off by the Adam Sandler longest yard.

mean streets, raging bull, taxi driver, things to do in denver when you're dead, swimming with sharks, frailty, deer hunter, donnie darko, punch drunk love, waiting for guffman, lost in translation, blue velvet, train spotting, requiem for a dream, virgin suicides, the usual suspects,
it shocks me the amount of people who don't see these movies, but after moving from N.J. to N.C. I realized that most of america doesn't live near theatres who show anything less then big studio pictures.
There's a ton of indie films too, like swimming pool, love liza, y tu mama tambien, etc. but they might be a bit much.

Donnie Darko is one that I just don't get. It was super hyped up by people I know, so I decided to give it a spin, watched it once and thought I missed something, so I watched it again. It has its moments, but overall I don't really think is a must see movie. I have found that it is a very cool movie to say you like though.

[QUOTE=Doogie;1443601]Jesus man, what cave have you been living in??QUOTE]
LOL
i didnt grab them all at one time, i only picked up boondock and resevoir dogs to name a few. i've had pulp fiction and the others for years now
I have one major problem, my girlfriend only likes "popcorn" movies as ron calls them and refuses to watch anything that doesnt have some big star in it.
so when we go to the movie store i wind up losing and get to watch some bogus movie with halle barry.

True. Add STEEL MAGNOLIAS and you've got Fez covered.

Many of Mr Bennington's choices are esoteric and avant-guard...
although he finds them pragmatic... i see them as dog-matic...
he thinks sublime... i think moot...
just flotsam and jetsam on the sea of movies i am lured to...
much too highbrow for me...
one of the reasons i fear to ever meet him...
it keeps me out of bar 9
a lesser one like myself, who worships him...
would be devastated to be labeled a 'ham-and-egger'

Back int he WNEW days the boys used to constantly reference a movie I never heard of called Chuck and Buck. Now Im stolling thru the Meadowlands flea market one bright summer morning and happen to see the VHS version of this fine piece of cinemography sitting on a table, brandy spankin new for a buck! I dig deep, trow the guy 4 quaters and away I go. My wife and I watch it that evening and are dying the whole night. Horrible movie, but now whenever they say Chuck and Buck, you instantly crack up laughing! Horrible, story, horrible acting, just plain creepy. Thats why I gotta reccomend it. Homo movie or not, it became a friggin bad movie classic right up there with BAD RONALD!
