My allergies are kicking my ass this week! The pollen count is off the charts up here and the congestion and post-nasal drip that accompanies it are making my life miserable.

How are YOU feeling and what do you do to feel better during seasonal allergy attacks?

They started two weeks ago for me. Not too bad, just a little annoying.

I was itchy last week when it was cold for a couple days, but I seem to be okay right now.

Fuck shit fuck shit fuck shit fuck. My biannual two months of living hell begin today. The oak flowers are in full bloom and I have gone through a box of Kleenex already. I feel like someone has emptied a can of compressed air into my sinuses and my tear ducts feel like they are the size of erasers. I might as well eat gruel for the next two months as taste and smell are no longer part of my sense arsenal. Hooray for the already persistent cough and the inevitable sinus infection to follow. Sonuvabitch.

mine are fine today, but nothing is in bloom here yet. once people start mowing their lawns and trees start to bloom i am a mess. my eyes feel like they grow to twice their size. it sucks.

RUN, HIDE! Gvac's ego is growing and he may be near which is what is causing your symptoms.

I'm stealing a crop duster and a couple of barrels of silver iodide. I think I could measure the amount of oak flowers on the ground in inches. I would try doing a rain dance, but I can't go outside for more than two minutes at a time.

I think I found out why I'm allergic to raw veggies and fruits. Interesting article. (http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/04/08/oral.allergy.syndrome/index.html)

Yea now that I think of it my eyes are a little watery and my nose is a little itchy today. I figured it was just all the drugs I do, but there might be more to it.

remarkably my sinuses are not too bad considering macon ga is now in the middle of a yellow/green pollen haze that is filling the air because of all th e blooming cherry bloosom trees that we have planted every damn where. the wal-zyr is working pretty good.

Any else having allergy problems today? I checked weather.com and they claim the pollen counts are low but I've been sneezing and have had an itchy throat since yesterday.

My allergies have been AWFUL for the past week. And I checked pollen counts and they weren't high. I know I'm allergic to some kind of shit from trees, maybe it's that? I wasn't expecting bad allergies this time of year.

Every year I do a story that says “It may be the worst allergy season ever.” But apparently this time…it might ACTUALLY be the worst! On April 29, Lincoln Center recorded the highest daily pollen level for New York since it started tracking in 2009.

I have been slowly getting worse and have been accepting every night in bed my nose stops up that I have terrible sinuses. But finally went and got tested for allergies Friday and found that I am allergic to the following:

Dust Mites - very terrible allergy to those little bastards and sleeping on a 12 yr old matress and old pillows might explain my nose problems
Rag Weed - noo wonder Im all fucked up during hunting season at the lodge - rag weed is in bloom and dust mites galore!
Dogs, Cats, Dust and Grass - low scale allergies.

So went today and bought a new matress set - Sears has 50% off right now - got a $4000 set up for less than $2000 - extra 10% off putting it on Sears card. AND 12 months no interest. Bought new pillows and dust mite barriers for pillows and bed.

They come and set it up next week and I can t wait!

Go get allergy tested - now I am taking some stuff and with prevention, I might start enjoying life again

I know my offending irritant. I'm violently allergic to oak flower pollen. I've tried literally every reasonable treatment, prescription and OTC and nothing offers anything beyond marginal help. The worst part is that after a few days I know that the sinus infections are about to start. Nothing really helps outside of time and the occasional rain storm.

There is no scientific data behind this theory whatsoever, and even a couple of studies that disprove it...

But I do it anyway, and it seems to help. :o

My logic would say that local honey could be beneficial for flower pollen, but not all allergins coincide with stuff that bees make honey from. Like mold, mildew, tree pollen and just straight up dry weather are still probably gonna get you.
