After seeing all the pics and reading some of the messages, I can almost hear the voices... "An information injection with Becky "FLASH" Gordon"... wrong number wedensday... the live gig at Gators on the Pass... the comedy scene... more than a woman...
I can never thank you guys enough for keeping me so entertained and starting my day off so well and full of laughter. It is amazing how you all have affected so many lives out here. Even after you guys left YNF was still shrouded in the Ron & Ron phenomenon, right up until that last evening on the air as we knew YNF, with Don Copone at the board. Some of us knew that the brief stint on WSUN would only be temporary, as the greatest of great Tampa Radio Talent could not, and should not function on AM.
I will say this about the SUN AM time though, Ron and Ron in the Morning drive slot, followed closely by the original "Hooters on the Radio" middays and ending the day in the afternoon drive spot was Bob Lassiter with the lovely Miss Sharon and Jeffy running the pots, that was severely strong radio, even if it was on a crappy AM signal!
I remember the day after Ronnie D lost his wife, Ronnie B taking over and really making us all feel his pain and anger over the loss. I am not too big to admit that tears were trickling down my cheeks that day. I remember it like yesterday, I truly do.
I remember so much about you guys and I still get a chuckle when I remember certin bits, like the wrong number from the old lady who wanted to change her address on her drivers license... Ronnie B almost had her believing she would need to stay in a tent or a chaise lounge chair until they could change her paperwork! Or the order for a gross of sandpipers... OMG... all too funny.
I still have my Larry the cable guy "Hooty Hoo in 92" shirt, still wrapped in plastic. My 95YNF bumper stickers still look great, but I imagine the sticky back isn't very goos anymore. In fact I have some stuff form the Y95 days, before the station became the ass-kickin 95YNF.
I miss you guys... I truly do...
