Zath, beware!
Thomas the Tank Engine is a slippery slope. It starts out innocent enough. Bedding, maybe an enine or 2 and a circle of tracks. Then it grows and grows to something out of control.
2 cabinets full of trains, tracks, bridges, sheds, etc.
Elaborate track designs spilling off of the train table and taking up half a room. Don't forget about the dvd's and books.
I don't think I have any pix here at work, but I will put some up later.

It does serve as a gateway to getting your kids into music, or at least it did when Ringo Starr was the conductor.

I looked at the thomas the tank bed, but couldn't see paying at least 250 for a bed that he's out grow in a year or so. so i decided to go with the sheets & comforter

I wonder how the kids would feel if they knew that Thomas the Tank Engine becomes Thomas the Cow Cleaver after a friday night bender.

Take the 250. that you saved and do the "Day Out With Thomas" in Strasburg, PA. They do it twice a year and it's really cool. You can do the whole thing in a day, but I stayed overnight and did Hershey also. When my kids saw Thomas coming down the track the expression on their faces was equal to Christmas morning.
I read that you found what you were looking for but, the toy store in Huntington Village (on 25a) accross from Starbucks use to have a lot of Thomas stuff.

When I have kids, im going to try and steer clear of any of this feel good kind of stuff. I want them raised on the same things I was - a strict diet of GI Joes and He Man cartoons, with a splattering of Sesame Street. But even now a days, they've dumbed down the older cartoons with terrible remakes, so I might even put in some of the more kid friendly anime stuff instead.
My kid is going to be a nerd with a great left hook.

.
Ther is also a Train Museum in Strasburg that is cool if you kids are in to trains, not just Thomas Trains. My son started on Thomas but now is just a junkie for anything trains. The museum has a large number of restored trains and it's indoors.
