squid roe is kind of cancunish, but good people watching. cabo wabo actually has a really good house band.

the sunset booze cruises to the arch are kinda gay. but if you get trashed you may have fun. or throw up like my friend did.

PUEBLO BONITO SUNSET BEACH: (http://www.pueblobonitosunsetbeach.com/) the most amazing place i have ever been to. not an all inclusive, but not too bad for food. plus if you go on the time share tour they give you $200 to add to your food bill.

Nice place Drus and I love the music on the site! How were the waves on the beach? I need a spot with some nice wave action or I get bored to death. I have a great place for Punta Cana, but it is more of a stay on resort type island which is why we went so top shelf and the waves were great compared to all other spots on the island.

Cabo is supposed to be a great party spot, with either no waves (on most resorts) or so rough they don't let you in the water (unprotected Pacific Ocean).

where pacifica (the most insanely beutiful place you will ever see in your life) & sunset beach are you arent allowed in the ocean because of the undertow. but the pools are so nice where i didnt even miss it. sunset beach has 4 pools in different parts around the resort, each quieter than the others so you can choose which you like best. pacifica is a lot quieter & doesn't allow children. it has two pools. we went there for the day & it was just unbelievable. rose is on the side where you can go in the water. its about a 15 minute shuttle ride from sunset beach if you are really jonesing for the beach. (i'm really a pool person myself so i didn't mind) but the beach seemed really packed & the hotel while it was really nice, the rose just seemed to have a totally different atmosphere from sunset beach & pacifica becasue they are more secluded. here's a pic from pacifica:

the nightlife is really busy too. i really liked it in cabo & would love to go back one day. the food was great & the bars & clubs were a lot of fun. everyone should go if they get the chance. i was lucky enough to tag along with rich friends who told me just to buy my plane ticket.

oh one great thing about the pueblo bonito resorts is that they have their own water system so you dont have to worry about any of the food. all the water from the sinks & showers, to the pools & to the water they water grass with all comes out of a bottle. they are very very careful. & when you go out to eat you always get bottled water. i never had a problem with any ice either.

that place looks amazing. so when you are there, you do not leave for the whole vacation?

there were a lot of restaurants at the resort so some nights we stayed, but mostly we went out into town. one of my friends knew someone who had a time share. so she told us about all these great places to go eat & hang out. it was a $10 cab ride from the resort to whatever place in town. the resort has amazing pool bars that serve you on the beach or by each pool. also has a deli by the lobby where you can buy snacks or a meal.

the main issue i had was that there is no internet in the rooms. there is wireless up by the lobby so i would take my computer up there each night just because i feel lost without it. sucks that i went all the way to cabo for vacation & still spent about an hour online each night (but my friends were also early to bed early to rise, which is the total opposite of me).

since the resort was built on a mountain these little guys will pick you up & take you to wherever you want to go around the grounds (even though its not really that big):

i know i must seem like a commercial for the place, but it was just such a great vacation & every inch of the resort was thought of even down to the paper towels in the bathroom. i just think that everyone needs to go & have a great time like i did.

Do the resort thing. We stopped there on a cruise last fall; thats what made us want to go back. All inclusive is the way to go.

Indeed it did! We rode out Hurricane Henriette in all her glory! It was "only" a category 1 so it wasn't too crazy but the eye passed right over us. It was nutty as a fruitcake. The winds blew in just the right direction so that we could leave our patio door open to watch and listen to the wind and surf. It was pretty awesome.

How long of a flight is it from Phoenix? I'm scurred to drive through Mexico.

you are really lucky then. my boyfriend was on grenada when hurricane ivan hit as a category 5 a few years ago. his apartment was destroyed, as was his entire school. i was kinda happy though cause randomly the entire school was uprooted & brought to long island. so he got to live at home for an extra semester instead of 1500 miles away. (that is after they lived without water & power for 8 days).

i'm sure it would be pretty short. it was only 5 hours from nyc. there are so many west coasters there too because its so close. everyone was all "ooh, you guys came a long way didn't ya?!!?" check expedia for rooms. that's how my friends booked it.

i'll probably wind up copy & pasting into the other thread. wherever it is.

Free cruises, huh? That, my friend is HUGE. I stopped there on a Princess cruise but only for a few hours. Cabo is weird in that there's no port big enough for the ships. You have to port outside of the marina and take the tenders into port.

The category 1 was cool and I wouldn't run from one now. I might even wait out a 2 but anything beyond that I'm WAY out.
