Massachusetts is resisting a year-old push by federal health authorities to make getting an HIV test as easy as being screened for cholesterol or diabetes, arguing that AIDS remains so freighted with social stigma that a test should not be done without a patient's specific written permission.
The state is one of 10 that continue to require written consent before an HIV test is performed, even though the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last year described such requirements as a barrier to testing. The CDC said the general consent that patients give for other medical screenings should cover the AIDS test as well

thoughts on this? I know I have my opinion. which is that everyone. should have an HIV test done twice a year. for free. I personally do, every 6 months I have one.

I get an Aids test 3 months after each time Ive had sex.
So...I get one every 8 years.
But seriously folks, I personally believe that the reason that U.S. Americans are unable to do so, is because some people out there in our nation, dont have Aids, and I believe that our medical community, like such as South Africa, and, the Iraq, everywhere, like such as, our medical community over here, in the U.S. should help the U.S. --should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so that we will be able to build up our immunity in the future for arch.

Written consent does seem like a lot. What's the problem with someone getting tested? God forbid that people find out if they're carrying around a terrible disease or not.

Why would we need to get tested??? I think everyone knows in this day and age you don't get HIV if you pee right after sex.
