is a wild insane ride of a movie.....you probably won't see anything weirder for a while....
The coen Brothers love it and their name is on it as producers but the film has been screwed over by the system and John Turturro has been going through hell for two years to get the thing seen....Well it's finally getting a shot in one theater in NYC..... (though it made a bundle of money in Italy)

so let's help Turturro.....

I saw posters for this at the Film Forum (NYC). I'm not sure when it is running there but I was hoping to catch it at BAM, considering Tuturro lives in the neighborhood, I figured maybe they'd pick it up.

I met Turturro hiking up a mountain in Northern Westchester where he told me about the movie. I told him I had no desire to see his f**kin movie and I hope he sinks with it.

i just checked the website, and it seems like it is on DVD already? Maybe I am missing the point here. if a lot of people go to see it, then how does it help Jon Tuttoro?

So Gandolfini is doing the Tony Soprano voice (the trailor also includes the line Tony used so often, "I am a married man) and Aida Turturro is also in it? Is this the Sopranos movie all those people said was going to happen?

I saw a pirated DVD for this in Bali six months ago but I found a complete Black Adder, Apocalypse Now and a Kurosawa movie. But I was real close because I loved Illuminata so much. Turturo is one of the actors of his generation that have gone on to direct great independent movies: ie. Steve Buscemi, Gary Oldman and Tim Roth.

In fact half the cast of this film were in Illuminata as well and they put in such great performances, especially Walken and Sarandon. I'll look for this again here in Cambodia but I'm afraid my purchase won't help Turturo unless he's working for the Malaysian DVD mafia.
