I have 2 tickets to see Mr. Adams and his lovely band at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Halloween...Wednesday Oct. 31st.
Before I tried to sell these elsewhere, was just wondering if anyone else here would be interested in the 1 extra ticket that I have. It is a GA Floor ticket. The person that I was going to the show with, cannot attend.
I believe that the evening requires a costume...I shall be dressing accordingly.
Let me know if you're interested.
I believe that the fall tour consists of 2 sets. 1st acoustic(full band). 2nd electric (full band again)

How did you do that? I tried at 10 and then it locked up. I asked me to type in those two words but there wasn't anything there! After a minute or two it finally displayed the words and by that time I got Row J in the Mezzanine!
Forget it! I don't like not being on the Floor ...

The Apollo is such a tiny theater... only about 1,400 seats...
There's not a bad seat in the house. Mezzanine would be great! Even better view of the stage!

This new album is fucking AMAZING.
*WINK*
Gets my vote for his best solo album yet.

It's the Cardinals, my friend. Not a solo album at all!

Yeah, I suppose we can officially shift from calling his albums "solo" since he's wisely embraced the Cardinals as at least something resembling equals and not just tools he needs to tolerate to get the album done.

Nice...but would it kill him to, say, replace the songs from fucking R&R and toss some Whiskeytown in there?

Man! You're starting to sound like the Blowhard. I'm worried.

Dude! It's what made him, and it was only 10-12 years ago. Besides, it's not like it harkens back to a time when he wasn't running the show...Whiskeytown's music is like 95% him, and R&R is horrible outside of like 3 songs.
STOP DENYING YOUR AWESOME PAST, RYAN.

Dude, Bro...I agree. The Cardinals are adding new flavors to songs old and new... They are even playing songs differently from Easy Tiger. I think that if they played a Whiskeytown song they might give people false hope that they might be getting back together or something like that.
I was just listening to Pneumonia and thinking how much it sounds like the solo stuff. I'm on the bandwagon for a Whiskeytown song or two. I'm just glad we get a new album per year and atleast one or two shows a year to see.
I'm a beggar...but not a choser.

I think that you kinda hit on part of why I would wan to hear the Whiskeytown stuff even more now...the Cardinals. They're such a good bad, I think it would really give a lot of those old songs some new life. Really, outside of Ryan and Caitlin, the various versions of Whiskeytown were always just second fiddle to the Ryan Adam' Show, and it would be cool to hear those songs again coming from a really good band that he seemingly respects and works with as opposed to just having work for him.

Hi all!
Here's a few photos I took last night. I managed to evade the "Apollo Photo Police" and get a couple keepers.

Excellent show!
I was 5th Row Center and my ears were blown out during the first set...forgot my earplugs.
The 2nd set was much more mellow and I think the soundguy adjusted the sound for all our sakes anyway.
Here's the setlist.
On 8:30 EST
1. Cobwebs
2. Everybody Knows
3. Born Into A Light
4. Fix It
5. Natural Ghost (heavy as fuck)
6. Goodnight Rose
7. Sun Also Sets
8. Rescue Blues
9. Peaceful Valley >
10. Bartering Lines
11. Wonderwall (Oasis) (so... so... heavy)
12. Dear John
13. Go Easy
Break at 9:40 EST
On at 9:55 EST
14. Let It Ride
15. Desire
16. Evergreen
17. Grand Island (Neal Casal)
18. Sink Ships
19. Please Do Not Let Me Go
20. Two
21. Magick
22. Cold Roses
23. Shakedown on 9th Street
24. Freeway to The Canyon (Neal Casal)
25. Crossed Out Name
26. Like Yesterday
27. Stop
Off at 10:57 EST
The live versions of the new album are WAY better than on the CD. There was NO TAPING allowed...which sucks. And the place was really anal about not letting people take pictures.

Looks like a fantastic show...and I suspect that tapes will surface soon. Like probably by the end of the day.

Awesome setlist. While the possible chaos of his younger days had its charm, he is such an awesome live performer now, largely thanks to the Cardinals.
Still...give me a Whiskeytown set, Ryan. Just every so often.
