I've been thinking about this for a long time, and I think it's a good way to deal with Iran if they go nuclear, but I also think we'll need a big hand from Russia to contain the threat.
I'm glad others who have more influence then me are thinking the same way. I was for the Iraq invasion, but now realize I made a mistake. I DON'T want war with Iran. We can deal with them another way.

I think we should tell Iran, "I'm tired. I'll deal with you in the morning."

Fuck that. You deal with them now.

(Thanks for the hanging curve.)

On the serious side, I think the only way to keep Iran from going nuclear is for the next President to assemble a coalition of the regional and world powers (especially Russia and China) that seriously puts the pressure on the various parts of the government over there to accept a deal that has the right combination of carrots and sticks. If we can't convince China to be and stay on the same page as everybody else there is no stoping Iran. And while I think that we should try to keep Iran from getting nukes, I also think Abazaid is right that we could find ways to contain them.

Not that we have much of a choice since W has exposed the limits of American military power.
