Tarantino is always good. Here's some quotes from him:
If I actually do an erotic movie, I'm going to have to reveal what I find sexy, what turns me on. And when it comes to sex in movies, it's got to be kind of kinky, because that's what's cinematic, that's what's fun
Yeah, hearing about what gets Trantino going is not fun at all.

The casting will be interesting. I wonder which 60's or 70's wash-up will have his career rejuvenated... But in the nude!

Feet.
It's in pretty much all of his films.

He just keeps getting more and more self-indulgent as his career goes along. It's not about making films anymore; it's about putting his geeky film obsessions on screen.
Look, it's obvious that many great directors were great fans of the movies at heart. But they weren't fanboys who were just trying to duplicate the types of movies they liked.

She looks like she could pick up a baseball with those dextrous digits.

If I get a lesbian scene involving Julie Dreyfus and Mira Sorvino, then I'm a happy guy.

Reservoir Dogs put gangster films into the public eye again
I think the film is amazing but this quote from the article seems strange to me. Haven't people always loved gangster films?

I doubt this will ever get made, like the Vega Brothers movie or the Mandiran kung fu movie he talked about.
And with the hardest of the hardcore porn just a couple clicks away, who's going to want to watch a tribute to softcore movies of the 60's besides movie geeks?

Well, the article is wrong since Goodfellas came out almost 3 yeards before RD, and THAT was the film that got people into gangster films again.
Gangster films have always ebbed and flowed in terms of popularity in this country. Big in the 30's, died off for the 40's, came back in the 50's and part of the 60's, died off again until the Godfather films...then went pretty quiet until GF hit the scene.

Though I think Tarentino is something of a genius......I think it's in the Rainman variety....a savant who is fixated on the fringes of Cinema......
Scorsese, on the other hand, seems keenly interested in the broad spectrum of film history, from classic Hollywood, Silents, documentaries, foreign films to musicals and genre pictures....there doesn't seem anything that Scorsese hasn't absorbed.....
I'm sure Tarentino has watched a large number of classic films but for whatever reason he has decided to be the champion of forgotton actors and film niches......
so I feel this is a positive step.....getting away from violence and delving into sex......
If this sounds like a back-handed compliment , it is.
Probably because I'm having a hard time taking films like Death Proof and Kill Bill seriously....
I enjoyed them both..................but......................... ........
he is regressing.

Which old band is he going to use as the soundtrack and the people will sit around calling this fucking jackoff a Genius again?

I disagree somewhat. Even his most recents films have a lot less edits than todays films. And watch the mall scene(s) form jackie brown, that is classic stuff with the long takes.
Of course he isnt the historian that Marty or the Coen Brothers are.
