I'm concerned about a user here.

I talk to a lot of people online here and from other venues, but it's strictly "online" - I don't know people's real names, I don't know anything about them about what we talk about online.

For example, I started talking to a guy from a movie forum on IRC back in 1996, and he's a buddy of mine, but I know nothing about his real life and he knows nothing about mine. "Online friends". That sort of deal.

I always wondered that if someone died or was incapicitated, there would be no way for people online to find out what happened to them. It's very rare that someone would come online her and inform people here that someone died. We have 30,000 members and only two reported deaths in that time - CircusBoy and JimiMetal - and the odds are, it's probably more than that.

Anyway, that being said, there's an RF.net user who falls into this category that's very conspicuous by their abscence, and they haven't been logged in for almost three weeks.

Am I overreacting, or should I be concerned?

I remember some years ago Figment posting something along those lines, how if one of us were to die, who from the board would know it, and it always stuck with me. The only reason we knew Jimi died was because it was in the papers. If he had a heart attack, who would know?

Matty, believe it or not this is something I talked to Crippler about.
If something happened to me where I was suddenly gone, how would others know.
I am sure he would let you know. (not that alot of you give a shit...:laugh:)
