The fucking town here has no police protection in the general area cause EVERY night the cops are in the village of Haverstraw going after the illegals that are fighting and stabbing each other. I hear you Doogie. I have been voting out the incumbents here for years. regardless of party affiliation. Because on this level, that means nothing. My taxes have doubled since I moved here. DOUBLED! A modest, well kept home on a 50x100 lot. 10K?
Both me and my neighbor have thought about trying to make a difference, via the election. But with small town or county politics, it's who you know. Grass rooters every now and again may get onto the council, but that is short lived.
I am good friends with the former mayor of one of the neighboring towns. It's WHO YOU KNOW! He hasn't been in office for years, but still ahs to attend the fundraisers, and make the contributions. It is sickening.
