As most of you who know me,I am a sincere yet sometimes sarcastic SOB.My wife of 3 years is driving me nuts! she treats me like a 5 year-old and I have NO intention of continueing on this course!I've supported her and her "visions" for 2 and a half years!when she made little or no money...now she makes more $$ than I do and she thinks she can control & dictate terms to me.I say FUCK that!I am a simple person and she has more sides than a prism.I've tolerated as much,as I can,she has a real problem with words.I tell her that she acts cunty,bitchy & mean she says I'm verbally abusive,all I've asked of her is to be;"nice" she'd rather be motherly..I didn't particularly get along with or like my mother.I speak to her of the positives that I have in life;the fact that I've had a gauranteed income,I don't runaround,gamble too much and accept her constant weight gains,aptitude & generally letting herself go...she dwells on the negs! Her priorities are; 1.her job,2.The cats,3.herself,4.me! I'm aware of whats right & wrong as this is my 3rd marriage and I'm as so many of you have stated old(i'm gonna be 50...so is she).she HATES my involvement with RF.Net to a point where she,at one time set up a user account....just to keep an eye on me! So here's yer chance tell me what a dick I am or If your even there,God knows I try my best to offer each and every one of you my best.shoot me with yer best shot.(no 80's Pat Benetar references Please!)Sincerely,buzz

Buzz, you are in a unique situation. Not many of us can be retired at such a "young" age. Your chick still has ambitions? You really should support her. What's the harm? More involvement in her life. More cash coming in, and not so much effort on your part. I think if you can show any other interest in your life, beyond this place, it would be a plus. Paint the house, work on the landscaping, etc
Lord knows I catch all kinds of shit for being on ronfez.net all the time. My boss approached me about it. I mentioned what we do. I chill for a while, listen to the show, post a bit in the listening thread, and I have a whole new outlook afterwords.
MsTub was pissed as all hell. Especially during the FreeFm days. But guess what? She allowed me to invite half the freakin' board to our home!

I can't begin to be able to compare my marriage experiences with this one (with the exception of the three year thing). Both of mine only lasted 3, but I fought like crazy to save them both, because I loved them and we had children.

I wouldn't go so far as to recommend ending the marriage, but I can't imagine myself wanting to stay in it, the way you describe it. I know the standard answer is always, "get marriage counseling", but it's never a bad idea. If she's not willing to do it, then you might want to question whether she wants it fixed.

sorry to hear about your troubles, budday. the not wanting to be babied thing...I totally get. The worst thing is when you are at a point in a relationship where all you do is argue about "the little things".

I think you definitely have to iron out the trust issues. If she is scoping out your "internet" world, then you really need to get down to the bottom of where the both of you stand. hear her out, though. Im sure that if you guys have been having problems and then she sees that you are escaping here...she's curious to see whats keeping you away from her. Talk to her...thats really all you can do. the more you avoid the situation the more awkward its going to be. "trust me on this".
