Do the store register dividers bother you?

I hate them but what I hate more is when some superficial dipshit sneak-attacks me from behind and immediate goes to grab that plastic divider and throws it up against my groceries like my food is gonna contaminate her shit. :thumbdown:

What truly gets under my skin is when my stuff on the conveyor belt is up to the checkout person and the conveyor belt is completely empty but the person behind STILL reaches for the divider and places it between my groceries and theirs.

That thing bothers me. Does it bother anyone else?

Doesn't bother me in the least. If you're behind someone, you don't have to wait for an acceptable buffer of conveyer to appear before putting your stuff down. Just grab the plastic divider and start unloading your cart.

I worked at a supermarket for over 5 years. I hate everything about them.

I did dislike when people would put a divider up when there was nothing to divide, though.

what i hate is when you us it and the cashier clears out everything in front of the divider, but doesnt then move the conveyor belt to give you more room when its available.

you then have to move or remove the divider and put the rest of your items in front of your other stuff.

In this case YOU should be putting the divider after your own groceries so the person behind you doesn't have to reach for it. That's the courteous thing to do.

it is right there, might as well use it. especially in the situations where you are in a 10 items or less line, and everyone just has a small pile
