I saw The Heartbreak Kid (I snuck into it after the wonderful Darjeeling Limited), the new Farrelly Brothers movie.

"Shockingly," it wasn't that good. A lot of the jokes just didn't seem to work and basically fell flat on their face. You saw what they were going for but they just didn't get there. That isn't to say there were no laughs, there were a bunch and some good ones but not that many and not that great. Like a lot of their other films, it is superior to most other romantic comedies but overall felt mediocre. It was better than their last couple of ventures but then again I don't hate Ben Stiller like most people do.

I will say this though, Malin Akerman (who I thought was the only sympathetic character in the movie) was ridiculously sexy. And Rob Cordry stole the show.

Isn't this movie just like 90% of Stiller's other movies?

Not bashing, just askin

I liked the original with Charles Grodin and Farrah.

This one has Carlos Mencia.

I don't hate him, but he took a wrong turn somewhere.

the fact that you remember the movie even a little bit makes it all good....

I haven't seen the Heartbreak Kid(1972) since.....since.....well...it's been a long time....

hopefully it's on cable this month....it's almost a completely different movie.....

I think ben stiller is one of the best supporting actors in movies today, but he can't carry a movie by himself, like he's trying to do here.

I felt that was an ensemble cast.

Stiller and the Farrellys' "The Heartbreak Kid" pulled in a modest $14 million during opening weekend, coming in at No. 2 behind "The Game Plan," which remained the top flick for the second-straight weekend with $16.3 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

Paramount and DreamWorks had expected more from "The Heartbreak Kid"

Stiller is funniest when he's playing an 'over the top' character, like in Dodge Ball, Zoolander, or Starsky and Hutch.
