or enthusiast...or geek..........
I am.....
of course everyone likes movies to some extent.....but I obviously take it to an unhealthy extreme.......but......
In one week I've been around the world three times and saw thousands of new people.....
in movies of course(I'm aware they are not real people)....

Do you enjoy and see every kind of movie and embrace the endless variety of life?

Find it harder and harder to see as many each year though.
Love this time of year because the Oscar (gegegege) movies are rolling out:clap:

Abso-fucking-lutley.
I even enjoy watching terrible, formulaic movies, just to crack jokes.

What should i download? I know its illegal but what do you recommend as Oscar worthy? The Oscar screeners are usually readily available this time of year

Into the Wild, In the Valley of Elah, and Eastern Promises are the best of three movies of the year so far, in that order. Saw them all this weekend. Next weekend is Michael Clayton and The Assassination of Jesse James.....so yeah, i'm a bit of a movie freak.

I really used to be, but I lost the interest. From the mid 90's on back, I'm the movie fuckin' master.

hammersavage mentioned five good ones....though the only point of seeing jesse james is on the big screen......I saw one tonight that's going on my top ten but it's too early to talk about...

I just got back from watching 'Michael Clayton', highly recommended. I'm a sick movie fan, if I'm going to watch something with friends I'll try catch a screening of another film straight before or after on my own. I'll go watch ANY 18/18A/R rated movie purely on principle, Hollywood just don't make that many anymore - wimps!

I try to see as much as I can and I do enjoy the variety. Any movie that can introduce me to another corner of the world and their people and culture is one I must see. I like sci-fi and drama more than comedy. Any movie involving a apocalyptic view of the future, I'll check out, from popcorn fare like Beyond Thunderdome, to exploring the human aspect of The Quiet Earth. I enjoy long movies you have to pay attention to in order to come away with something, movies like Babel and Syriana. I don't mind when the director let me make up my mind. There is a movie called Koyaanisqatsi that I think everyone should see. I don't buy or download pirated movies and would rather see a movie on the big screen. I can't wait for the new Indiana Jones movie.

I've stopped buying CDs and usually only buy DVDs now. I'm building a good collection.

So yea, I think I'm a movie freak.

I'm in the same boat. I love movies, read books about movies, etc. I think I have over 200 movies on DVD.

But between my job and family life, it's been really hard to get to a movie.

I find myself going back to older movies I've never discovered. I also like to trace influences, like recently I watched "Taxidriver" again and in the special features segment Scorcese said he was heavily into Godard. So now I want to check out Godard. "Star Wars" was influenced by Kurosawa. I love exploring this, and for me this relates the same to music and literature. Everyone steals.

I am a movie FANATIC.
The behind-the-scenes aspect of movie making is amazing to me.

I've been on several movie sets (for various reasons) and once I saw the process, I was immediately motivated to learn how to write, shoot, and edit.

It's just as exciting for me to watch big budget shlock like Michael Bay movies as it is to watch low budget indie films. Both types of films have value although, I hate what's happening with CGI nowadays. We're still not quite there yet. It's distracting.

I dissect EVERYTHING about a movie once it's over. The plot, editing, continuity... everything.

When I win lotto, I'm gonna shoot my own feature and try to release it to the festival circuit.

I'm a HUGE movie buff, I own over 3,000 DVDs and about 4,000 VHSs, (it's what I collect), and I see about 2 new films a week.

The best I've seen this year have been:

-Juno
-There Will Be Blood
-No Country for Old Men
-Sweeney Todd
-Eastern Promises
-Michael Clayton
-The Diving Bell and Butterfly
-Charlie Wilson's War

yea im a movie fanatic, ever since I was a kid, movies were my escape. Like others mentioned I love not just the films but the backstories behind them, I love dvds just for the fact of the commentary feature. I love the classics, especially films from the 20's - mid 60's. The movies of the 30's and 40's are just never to be duplicated ever again.

I'm pushing 1,000 dvds and over 3,000 vhs films, lots of old films and lots of new ones too, I dont exclusively watch old films.

Haven't had much time lately between work and school but I did catch up recently and see a few films. Saw eastern promises, before the devil knows you're dead and 3:10 to yuma... honestly not impressed too much with any of them, eastern promises was the best of the 3. La Vie En Rose was a really great watch though, very impressed.

I also love the history of film and cinema, especially the old studio systems under people like Meyer and the Warner's, film and baseball are really fascinating to study for me cause of my history background and current studies in history for school. Especially in comparison to communist vs. capitalist economies, when you look at current movie studios relationships to their "workers" or the actors versus the old system.
