A small private intelligence company that monitors Islamic terrorist groups obtained a new Osama bin Laden video ahead of its official release last month, and around 10 a.m. on Sept. 7, it notified the Bush administration of its secret acquisition. It gave two senior officials access on the condition that the officials not reveal they had it until the al-Qaeda release.
Within 20 minutes, a range of intelligence agencies had begun downloading it from the company's Web site. By midafternoon that day, the video and a transcript of its audio track had been leaked from within the Bush administration to cable television news and broadcast worldwide.

And my question is - Why is it that we don't have a large percentage of this Administration hanging from gallows in the public square, after they've been justly convicted of treason? Have we just given up because being a citizen in a democratic republic turns out to be too hard? Have we become too stupid to pull it off? Or are we deliberately giving a fuck you to the Founders of this State because they asked too much?
Once again, my outrage gland is on the verge of being squeezed dry. :wallbash:

I read this yesterday and I think it's nothing. There's a lot of "intelligence" freelancers out there especially ones that popped up after 9-11. Some of them are pushing their own agendas and I think most of them don't have any idea what they're doing. This one looks like one of the ones that have allied itself with the White House rather than the actual intelligence community because of a really good question posed by one of their competitors at the end of the article:
One competitor, Ben Venzke, founder of IntelCenter, said he questions SITE's decision -- as described by Katz -- to offer the video to White House policymakers rather than quietly share it with intelligence analysts.
Maybe SITE does useful intelligence work. But if, for ideological and/or financial reasons, it's feeding its data directly to the White House instead of to any or all of the 16 American intelligence agencies who's job it is to use the data to protect us, then whatever useful information they're gathering isn't doing us much good anyway. If another one of the administration's friends got burned by it? Who cares?

Apparently it's OK to commit treason if you're rich, republican, and/or a friend of the Bush family.
Fuck Bush, fuck this administration, fuck republicans, fuck bin laden, and fuck every fucking body. Religion is stupid, politics are stupid, and partisanship is stupid.

Even if it's easy to be free
What's your definition of freedom?
And who the fuck are you, anyway?
Who the fuck are they?
Who the fuck am I to say?
What the fuck is really going on?
How did the cat get so fat?

I am no lawyer, but I think for a treason conviction the nation has to legally be in a state of declared war and we are not.
The Bush administration has long accepted those who have leaked or given classified intelligence away.
There was Doug Feith who was fired early in the Reagan administration after being caught giving classified information to a foreign government.
Bush was happy to have him aboard as an undersecretary of defense where he had plenty more access to highly classified information.
You all remember Richard Perle - Richie was caught by the FBI during the Nixon administration giving our secrets to a foreign government, but Bush hired him as chairman of the Defense Policy Board where he had plenty of access to our secrets.
Michael Ledeen was up to his eyeballs in the arms-for-hostages scandal and was listed by the CIA as an "agent of influence of a foreign government." This qualified him for work in the Bush administration under Feith at the Office of Special Plans which was set up to do the end around the CIA and produce bogus "intelligence" about Iraq in the leadup to the war.
Lawrence Franklin also worked for Doug Feith and has been convicted on espionage charges. After he stopped cooperating with prosecutors he received a 12-year sentence and is now making little ones out of big ones.
Harold Rhode, another Feith staffer, was overheard discussing highly classified information over the phone to intelligence officers of a foreign country but nothing was done about it.
Stephen D. Bruyen was hired to work as a deputy secretary to Richard Perle and was investigated by the FBI for espionage in a case I believe is still ongoing.
For details on these "patriots," check out James Bamford's excellent A Pretext for War and be sure to get the Anchor Books edition because it has a very informative afterword.
I wonder if Hillary will give jobs to John Deutsch and Sandy Berger if she wins next year.

Were they members of the Bush administration who leaked classified information?
