So I was sitting down with Snacks and Crippler and discussing if the Foo Fighters should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The topic of album sales came to the discussion. After searching on Billboard.com we could not find anything.
Any sites to check out the total number of Album sales for any group/artist?
Thanks.
p.s. Snacks made us watch Saturday Night Live to see Bon Jovi on it.....that is how we got to talk about the Foo Fighters. God that show SUCKS. It made my eyes bleed...but that is for another dicussion.

How the fuck has SNL stayed on tv for 30 years? The comedy is so amateur and not funny. Every now and then I see a funny scene (ex: dick in the box) but for the most part all the actors are the same characters in every bit they are in and the writing is awful.
Back to what this thread is about. Billboard sucks dick. They dont list album sales per album for each artist. They only list current albums on the charts and show the amount listed in increments of 500K. Is there a site that shows each artist and the # of albums sold for each album?

Billboard and Soundscan are two completely different companies. Billboard just reports the info that Soundscan provides them. Billboard's can provide those half-million increments because that's the sales that comprise what's necessary for a gold album. Even that is incomplete because the R.I.A.A. only conducts audits when a label requests them. The Sex Pistols' album probably went platinum years and years ago, but it was only in the mid-90's that Warner Brothers requested it.
Soundscan's stats of an album's total sales are not released to the general public. The labels pay for the data, and they can release the info if they desire. Even if Soundscan's data show an album qualifies for a gold record it still must be audited by the R.I.A.A.
