I just went downstairs and opened the blinds on the sliding doors to my backyard and saw this huge, two foot tall hawk just sitting on my lawn. I'd never seen one that close before. I stared at it for about a minute when I realize he was sitting on something gray and furry. Looking closely, I noticed it was still squirming.

I called my son down to see. We looked a little longer but I guess we got a little too close to the vertical blinds and he got spooked and flew away with this huge squirrel still in his talons. At first I felt a little bad for the squirrel. But now I'm sitting here and I can't believe what a good mood this little encounter has put me in. I feel like I've just witnessed the circle of life or some poetic shit like that. Nature is a wonderous thing.

That's pretty fucking cool.

I still get a kick out of seeing deer close to the road in my friend's development out in PA. They're used to it by now.

But a fucking hawk with a kill in his talons? That's bad ass.

The coyotes are making a comeback around here, and it's pretty cool hearing them yip at each other down in the creek at night. I've seen them come out of the tree line in the day, and the young'uns are fun to watch when they play. Hopefully, they won't come up the hill near our goats, because I would hate to have disintegrate one's head with the .270.

in the movie napolean asks if "the chicken has LARGE talons"

other than that, that's pretty bad ass. when I used to have a snake it got real big so i fed it rabbits. one day it got out and ate the neighbors cat. I saw it as it was happening but its dangerous to get between a boa constrictor and its prey. had to give the snake up otherwise the neighbor was gonna sue
