Hi-ya Buddies,
I happened to be one of the lucky or unlucky few who was able to preorder world series tickets for the Yankees. As we all no they didn't make it. For 2 tickets I was charged 181 dollars. I just checked my credit card balance and I was credited back 177. I called ticketmaster and they told me that was the fee for ordering the tickets. When I asked him about it he said that the person who I spoke to should have told me that the $4 was nonrefundable....the tickets had to be preordered on-line so I spoke to no-one but whatever. $4 isn't a big deal but then I got to thinking....tickets were sold to both the ALCS and the World series so that is 7 games, take that and multiply that by 56,000 and then again my the $4 charge and ticketmaster just made $1,568,000 for doing absolutely nothing.

If you ordered the tickets via phone (ie not on the website where this stuff is probably printed somewhere and certainly mentioned in the click-to-accept agreement), and nobody mentioned to you at the time that there would be no refund in the event that the games weren't played, then just charge back the remainder. If you had no way of knowing whatsoever, that's their loss. I am sure they won't even bother fighting it. So if you wanna make your small point...

The service charge was only $4? The last time I ordered concert tickets from Ticketmaster (which, thankfully, I rarely ever have to do), they charged an extra fee of $7 per ticket. Shit-fuckers.

Had to pay $20 for $10 O&A Virus tickets. Ticketmaster is the worst.

saw on the news today
these ticket/broker companies have computer programs that purchase if not all 'hot item' tickets as soon as they go on sale. tickets that sell for 25 to 50 bucks and they re-sell them at whatever someone wants to pay for them. some tickets for the concert being given by billy ray cirrus(sp?) daughter were going for over 2 grand...
my first reaction is " what's the difference between this and ticket scalping? " and it kind of ticked me off. but then I think if someone is willing to pay two grand to go see someone then let e'm do it

considering they were pretty much guaranteeing that you would see a world series game, I think $4 is not a lot to ask....................... that was your risk if you wanted to buy them 2-3 weeks before you knew for sure

same thing happened to us when trent reznor canceled a NIN show in like 2001.
also, when pearl jam did their fuck ticketmaster concert at randall's island it cost more than most ticketmaster concerts.

I've never heard of buying WS tickets thru ticketmaster. When I went to the DS this year I got my tickets thru the Phils themselves.

i dont have a problem paying the surcharge for ticketmaster.
its how they make their money. i just limit myself to what i am going to go see.
i think its dumb that lawmakers are looking into this. who the hell are they to tell a company how much they are allowed to make.
as far as ticket brokers, i think they are scum of the earth for eating up the tickets like that when they go on sale. the best way (unfortunatly) of putting an end to this practice is by not going to concerts at all.

Dude, its $4. You actually sat down and figured that out over 4 measly $?
In the time you spent doing that, you could have saved 20% on your car insurance by switching to GEICO.
